I'm wanting to go fishing this Saturday morning and possibly Sunday morning if any one wants to go out to : Ray Hubbard, Bayview Marina or maybe Lavon which I know nothing about. Or? TexasSteve?, Chess101? Anyone else?

I'm looking to do the same. I was originally thinking Saturday, but I might hit up that swap meet instead. What are you trying to catch?

Don't want to hijack the thread but I have a fast question for Chess. I am learning to drift for cats do I hunt shallow, deep, drop off this time of year ?(Lake Arrowhead).

I was doing good drifting deep (20-28') but with this rainI think id drift 15-8' parallel to the bank...or anchor up to some sticks near a run off... . Btw Saturday is showing 10mph North winds.
i think most will try shallow first, but the deep water should still be holding fish, don't hold me to this as i myself am still trying to learn the patterns.
Good luck!

Thanks for the information Chess. With a 10 mph North wind I have some promising shore line that holds rocks, points, a boat launch and various terran I can play with. Soon I will make it down there to fish with you all again untill than I am going to convert anglers I know to yak anglers .

With that wind I think that fishing the wake breaks at the bay view marina will be a good choice so we don't get blown around. I will fish for largemouth , white bass and crappie n cats. I will scale down my lure size so that all of these are a possibility. Saturday around 8am and the same on Sunday.

Unfortunately, the Shad deceived me, we ended up fishing the mouth of Rowlett creek
Didn't feel comfortable driving to Lavon with no bait.

It was nice to get on the water. The water was like coffee with sugar and cream. Good company, just wasn't fish. I can't wait to go again when it isn't so stained. Goose egg day is really just practice day.
