Thanks for the update BassMan373V. I did find the map in the Bank Fishing forum. Posting it here once again -

http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF&msa=0&msid=113383920670338245597.000483d695aca456dff03

One more thing, is it a good idea to go to Mason creek this time of the year. I know people catch all finds of fish there, but most of the reports are from June to November months.

Cheers

That's where I usually fish on Mason Creek. I park either on the dirt "road" behind the paintball course or by the utility stuff depending on what side I want to fish. Although last time I went out there they were doing construction at that spot. Are they done with it now? I also use to fish behind the strip center that has the doctor's office in it that's real close by at the corner of Westgreen and Kingsland.

Cats got my tongue!! laugh

First of all, thank you Texas Fishing Forum for posting the Bank fishing map!! A new guy in Houston, would never have found the spots on Mason creek without it. smile

So,went there around 12:30 and was there for a few hours. 11 cats in all. banana Few were decent sized and the others where kinda small. Caught the biggest one when I got a call from my Boss. Reeling and talking ..... grin

I caught them on nightcrawlers. Got 'em from Academy yesterday and they looked fat and juicy. Better than the ones you get at Walmart. I also had Berkley Catfish Chunks(Blood) and gave it a try. Didn't catch anything on it, not even a bite.I did see a lot of turtles and they kept yanking on my bait. Lost quite a few of my nightcrawlers to them.

I also chummed some corn to see if any carp come around, but didn't see any.

The construction is still going on, but I didn't see any work being done today. The water level looked a bit low to me. I could see the water was like 2 feet lower than the markings on the walls of the creek.

Will give it a try again on Sunday. Let me know if one else is interested.

Cheers

PS - How do you post pics on the forum?

Is it a good idea to go there this coming Sunday?? I know the forecast is for a lot of rain on Friday night and Saturday.

The water would be pretty muddy by Sunday. Any updates would be great as I intend to go there again this Sunday.

Else, was thinking of heading to Buffalo Run Park in Missouri City.

It would probably be really slow on Sunday. I was planning to go to Huntsville SP Sunday but with the rain and everything we're supposed to get I don't think it's worth the drive so I might end up trying Buffalo Run. If you see a scrawny kid in a green kayak with an American flag waving don't be afraid to say hi!

Thanks for the reply.

I saw another post in the Bank Fishing forum on Mason Creek, and it seems that the muddy water is not the best time to fish.

I was also thinking about heading to Buffalo Run this Sunday.

See ya around.

Cheers

Well...coudn't control the itch and went to Mason Creek on Saturday.

The water level has a lot better the last time I went due to all the rain..but water was really muddy.

Had 6 cat-fish, a couple of 2 lbs and a one nice one of 4 lb 3 ounces.

Also snagged a carp, but ended up horsing it. (Stupid)...she spit the hook out.

Can't wait for the water to clear.

Cheers
