Lures, soft and hard, are just like golf clubs. Any new product that has some success is gonna be copied and on the market within the year.

If they could win this they should go after all the brush hog copycats out there.

Good to see companies standing up and defending their designs against all the copy cats. Just wish it was a case where the designs were closer, but then again maybe it will put some fear into the guys that say "Nu-uh, the ribs on my worm are .009in apart and the ribs on that worm are .007in apart. Totally different"

As many brush hog copy cats as there are, and they pick on a tail lol. thats odd. But hey gotta protect your investment I suppose. Its the day and age of litigation against others.

Patent suits are not always about how much difference is in the two items in question. It is about whether the infringing company has the cash to defend their product.

Patent litigation is extremely expensive and small companies usually don't have the funds to afford high powered patent attorneys. If this is the case, they usually cave in and cease & desist or just go belly up.

They should have just added a floating tail or rattle chamber.

Lot of folks like knockoffs with some small added feature as the next best deal. Just get a prostaff together and it's the second coming.

Not sure how folks could be proud of a knockoff trying to sell it as some type of new design.

A "knock off" lure has to be changed a certain percentage from the original and you can get away with it. I don't remember the exact percentage but it is not that much. IF you come out with a "new" soft plastic lure design, you better have a war chest full of cash to defend it if the lure catches fish because it will be copied! Aw...the ethics of the bait business. Just look at what happened when the Chatterbait came out.
