I drove by the free ramp on the way home, the gates were open two COE trucks were there. The level was higher than it was previous years using the free ramp, so I am wondering if the gate to the ramp will stay open the lake came up 3ft 9 inches so far which is 2 ft 8 inches below pool and still rising. I know it will only be a matter of time and even this metro lake will be expensive to do anything on due to all the proposed building around it. This was a couple from Monday eve before the rain: Hey Heath remember these?

Having the Rocky Creek ramp open again will be nice for me. It's the closest ramp for me.

Wow, filled up almost overnight. Aquilla filled up, too (I had to do a silent fist pump when I saw that........LOL). And it happened with a flooding rain that didn't do a lot of damage; we were very lucky there. And in January, normally the driest month of the year here. Go figure...
Are your fish going to hold their depth with all this new water, Pat?

BB water is so stained I don't know how you guys are catching on jigs. I kinda new to jigging so I don't expect to fill the boat but I've been getting skunked out there. They love the live bait and you always catch something surprising too. But, I like the idea of jiggin because there is obviously more skill involved. Just wish I could give my stringer some attention.

Yep they will hold depth, my livewell's are only about two ft. deep. JK hey you see badly stained water mostly sediment the deep water bite will still be good probably all day now that the water is stained less light penetration so get some of that Bang Anise in the can at Academy just start(SPRAYING AND PRAYING) it all good, see you on the water soon I hope.

Thanks for the advise Pat. I really didn't know what to think about sprays much less which one to go with. I'll give it a try.

looks like benbrook is still rising..........anyway, I have been thinking about injecting the dead red into shad with a hypodermic needle. It smells great and I dont mind spraying it on my hands, but its like spraying expanded metal with aerosol paint in the wind, there is lots of waste. Smells like anise, too..........Really a good seperate topic

Yeah I'm kind of a young cat, well at least young in the fishing realm. But, I usually will have a old man in the boat making my 8 horse yamaha work extra hard moving us around. Luckily benbrook is a small lake and you can get to the spots quick. It's my home lake so hopefully I will run into you some time. Everyone I know was a cool dude I met on the water.

There were a few biting on Saturday afternoon. I caught them two feet deep in my livewell (actually, they were near the bottom in 28 feet of water). They liked both jigs in the photo, a 2" chartreuse glitter tube and a red and chartreuse crappie jig.
