I found an old Shimano Bantam IOX SG... it seems to be in good shape short of mising one small screw on the left side plate. put some line on it and it casts and the drag works. Any body know about them as far as is it something I should use or set a side as a collectible? juggle

Ebay has them from 25 to 50 bucks, being sold as vintage.

I used them for years. They "were" Great reels. The Shimano's of today are just so much better.

Curado's 200E5 and E7 and the E50 are just light years ahead in the technology and tolerances.

There were so many made I don't know if they will really ever be a collector item.

I would continue to use it. Put it on a 6ft - 6 1/2 medium action rod with light line and go creek fishing. Great for casting light lures.

Fish it. I am still using a bunch of Abu's from the same era and they fish great. There will never be much money in reels unless they are unused in the original box.
