But its gatta be able to hold a fat guy plus gear!
would be willing to spend more on the right boat!

Also check out www.texaskayakfisherman.com they usually have alot of good deals. I got mine off of Craiglists had to look in the Austin area since more people in that area have kayaks and kayak than most others.

For the price of gas you could rig a new one. Go paddle a new Ride 135.

One of my friends has a Hobie PA in dune. You can see it from a pretty good ways off. A yak attack Flag can also help with visibility.

If you are going to be in the Metroplex Saturday anyway, I would go ahead and head over to Mariner Sails and take a chance to see what might show up at the Swap Meet they are hosting Saturday Morning. As far a color options, Mariner always seemed to have a better selection in stock on their Hobie's in my opinion. I know it doesn't get a lot of talk on here, but I have paddled a Hobie Quest and seems to be quite a fine fishing machine to me. And when I was looking at them, the color choices in stock were good.

I assume you are in Mineral Wells, so if you didn't find what you wanted at Mariner Sails, you could still hit Mountain Sports or even Backwoods in FtW on your way back.

BTW, I'm with you on being seen!!! Camo is great for duck hunting, but unfortunately, on a lake the boaters can't see you any better than the ducks.

I'd be willing to sell you my Prowler Big Game, has LED deck lighting, and Humminbird 160, looking at going to something else, but once again, you would have to come to Austin.

And Mango is the only color... It goes with everything!!!

Also, why would you want a white kayak? That would create a lot of sun glare.

I have to correct my previous statement. My trident is "sunrise" which is yellow on one end and redishorange on the other with lots of "mango" goodness in between.

My vote would be Hobie PA or Native Ultimate. Why no love for native Kayaks? I feel like I am the only Native Ult. owner in the state...

Because he asked about a kayak. Native ultimate may be a nice fishing boat, but it's a canoe.

I guess I was thrown off by their website and industry classification as a kayak. For stability and dryness I still stand by Ultimates or Hobie PA.

JAlderson... I'm just joking. I like the ultimates, truthfully they are a canoe/kayak hybrids.

Mainly didn't say anything about the PA and the ultimate because of MSRP on both of them. Since he is a big boy like me, he would have to look for an ultimate 14.5, and that thing isn't exactly cheap... Unless you compared it to the PA.

I really would like to get a freedom hawk pathfinder. I think if I do end up going to a different yak (truthfully pretty unlikely that I do go to a different setup) it will likely be an xfactor or a cobra fish and dive. I need to loose some weight and slim down my gear so I can use some of these more efficient boats.

Maybe one of these days I'll make/save enough to get a Pro Angler.
