Pat I was a the marina yesterday and my friend quack is back home. That's one ugly duck but I still love him.

Now its the only fishing barge/Marina on Benbrook Lake. The Rocky Creek Marina has been closed down.

Went by the Marina today, man its great to havr water again. Gonna tear the crappie up this year!!!!!!! LOL

The Marina has added Pearch to their list of baits available.

I was there yesterday and Don King (AKA afro-puff, quack,up-dew duck) was in the marina swimming strong and begging for treats. I need to get a good close up picture of him, I have never seen a duck with that type of head gear.

Hey the duck is the most famous person in Benbrook. More people know him than who is the Mayor over there,LOL but true if you Google Benbrook images about the fourth line down there is a pic of Don King in his younger days, That duck has a postcard in his honor the pic was in his youngerdays,and now his Afro has some color and is a wild one.

an old cajun man was sitting at a creek fishing , when a man came along on horseback. the man on horseback ask the cajun fisherman how deep the creek was, because he wanted to cross it with his horse. the cajun fisherman, told him..,, DAT creek right da is shalla, shalla shalla, you wont have no problem get across dere wit dat tall american saddlebred like what you riding in sure. So the horseman thanks the fisherman, and start cutting across the stream when he and his horse disapear suddenly, the fisherman looks in amazement, and disbelief, and the horseman struggled to get out of the stream, almost drowning. finally after the horseman got out with his horse, he glared at the fisherman with great rage and yelled, You idiot, why did you tell me it was shallow? .. the cajun fisherman explained. Mr. I shure did not try to mislead you, I am terribly sorry, but not 5 minutes before you come, I saw 3 duck, cross that stream, they walk right across with no problem.

Hey gaspergou, is that some of the equipment leftover from the building of the lake. I put some brush in there for that beaver to feed on, just hope he left some for the crappie.

I have not been able to figure out what that block is . I think it was pushed or fell off the bluff and landed sideways. There is old car frame or suspension with wheel smashed up behind it. I cannot see anything there on the 1956 aerial photo except the gravel road runs by, but no bridge at that exact spot. Maybe it was a pump house as I expect there was a good hole in the creek there and maybe a seep. Tore up my best cast net on it though.

I caught the fish in my signature @ that spot back in '04 and my pops caught crappie there before they filled the lake. We need to go in
there and grab a couple of big old yellow cats when it warms up, we can take turns if you go first.

I plan on trying it down closer to the steel pier...tried to memorize the caves, but I think they might be a bit deep...hope I refrain.

Hey Gaspergou that area you saw me in a few weeks ago is under water, I am going tomorrow and troll deep water for some Sac a lait. I hope the big ones are hungry.
