Not a rookie here, so would like to have real feedback from owners, not hearsay.

I’m looking at a boat with a 09 Yamaha 250 HPDI Series 2 with somewhere around 100 hrs. I’ve already had the S/N ran and there has been no recorded service issues. I’m interested in hearing from those that are and have ran this motor and if they’ve had any type of issues.

Thanks

I've had two. Zero issues. Just keep up the maintenance, plugs, lower unit oil changes, and if you fish in the cold, make sure you let it warm up before getting in the throttle.

That's good to hear. I'm looking at a boat that's been ran on the Elite trail, so I'm trying to get as much info as possible about the motor.

I'd had one for almost 4 years and love it. I do the typical maintenance on it and run Ring Free and Stabil through it on a regular basis. Like GarySHO said, in winter let it warm up by idling around. Don't just crank it and leave it in neutral, it doesn't warm up that way.

I have been running mine since 08 on a 20 i Class and it has never had a single issue. I think it is a great engine.
