What is the deal....? I know they pull water and send it out to Tawakoni or lavon or what ever but give the lakes a chance before you start pulling water! It looks like they don't want Fork to fill up for some reason. I mean they see the rain coming and turn on the pumps.... What kind of sense does that make? If they needed water in the other lake they got a ton and there is 10 tons coming down the creeks! I want my boat runs back!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They're already pumping from Fork?

"Take Dead Aim", isn't that Harvey Pennick golf reference?

What are you talking about? They are not releasing water from the dam, I just came from there not 10 minutes ago.

They are pumping out of Fork? That is news to me, wasn't aware they had the station functioning. Lets be positive! If the lake stays low through the spring we will see some toads brougth out smile smile

I don't think they could pump it fast enough to make the lake level shift that much. Let me make some phone calls, everyone in the marina today is saying some off the wall stuff about the dam being open.

The USGS reading always fluctuates a bit on Fork. It seems to do so more often when the North wind blows. The pumps are not on nor would there be any immediate result of such registered on the USGS graph. The last time the pumps were on was in January 2010. We will see the lake continue to rise over the next several days. I live on the lake and have had a little over 2.5 inches since yesterday. It is gonna take much more rain to fill this lake, but it will get back to full at some point.

Well,It's a problem when R Hubbard is up 1.5 feet and Fork is only up 3-4 inches.

Dip Net is correct, when the wind is blowing out of the north it makes the readings go crazy. I live at the lake and there were huge whitecaps coming from the north this morning. I had 2 3/4" of rain in my gauge about an hour ago. I am guessing the lake will come about 6-7 inches based on the rain we had a couple of weeks ago. Not raining now and the wind is not blowing nearly as bad. Check the reading now (396.40), which means the lake has come up 3" since yesterday when the rain started. I wish we had gotten the same rain the metromess got!! We'll take this and hope for more.

I believe the DFW area has had a bit more rain than what we have gotten so far at Fork. Hard surfaces such as roads and parking lots will lend to the amount of run off into Ray Hubbard as well.

Trust me when I say that there is no human interfering with level of Lake Fork today.

Lol. Even FZ1 couldn't,personally, raise the RH level that much. The problem is how much more rain can we expect this spring? At 4 inches of lake fill, per rain,Fork is not even gonna make it up to "only" 5 feet low by the end of April.

Really we need the lake to stay low thru out the spring
so the brush and trees can grow during the spring so when the lake comes up there
will be cover.
We have dried up alot of the slit and gained lots of new spawning
areas already, but the addition of lots of new cover will be Lake Forks
rebirth
I understand Texas needs water, but I believe that this is what Lake Fork
needs as a aging lake .The bloom of Sand bass in the last last couple years
the baby bass will really need the new cover .

Lance, the only cover the sandbass needs is a little bread crumbs, hot sauce, and tarter sauce! Now get off the couch! banana

Ray Hubbard at full pool is 22,745 acres, 40 feet at it's deepest.

Fork is 27,264 acres at full pool and 70 feet at it's deepest.

So it's going to take a lot more water to fill up Fork than it is RH. I'm not sure on watershed acreage of the two, but RH has a lot of hills and concrete around it, so perhaps that and heavier rainfall in DFW than Emory cause more run-off?
