3' as in 3 feet? Good grief in 4 hrs? Wish I was there to raise my boat a little higher on the lift.

I was out there the other day out at Pine Cove. I have never seen that lake so dry. I'll keep you guys in my prayers. Y'all are gonna need it to fill that lake up by summer.

That's true, but I haven't seen where he has opened it yet. So it must still be closed. I know for a fact that Pepop went to LOP last weekend, because Palestine was closed. He's going to Lake Sandlin in the next few weekends. So, I ASSUME that Lake Palestine is still closed. rolleyes Maybe Next Year... bannana2

You are fighting a losing battle with the water level. You know everytime you sneak one of them monster crappie out the water level drops.

OK we'll figure out who the sheriff is later, now back to the lake level. What we know is the lakes still closed and we have one vote for 3' up and one for 3". Either my boat has floated off the lift by now or it still doesn't have any water under it. Any more estimates??

Poeple dont realize the size of Palestine's watershed.

If you are ever on 64 east just outside the loop of Tyler there are a couple of small ponds at the CB&I offices. All the water from there and the surrounding neighborhood/Clarkston Elementary ends up in Lake Palestine

That lake is not there yet....

Probably never will with all the Ijits worrying about the tree frogs and Sallymanders!!!!

Wish they would though... I got my spot marked for some water front property on the NE end of the lake.

Any bets yet?? I'll take 10 bets or just bump the bet up to any amount!!!

I've lost count. When did the planning begin on Lake Columbia? It seems like it was in the early 1980s.

on a more serious note. if you look at any terrain map for the tyler area you see there is a line that runs just west of tyler down to bullard and towards new summerfield/troup. This is part of the angelina river basin. All things west of that line go into lake Palestine for the Neches river basin. Therefore unless chicago bridge and iron put pipes under their pretty ponds to lake Palestine there is no way that water will make its way to Palestine. (dammit mr. taylor see why i dont get on here anymore!)

Last time I heard, water still runs downhill. Follow the terrain and it will show where the water runs.

Except in certain isolated instances (and I don't know any) gravity rules.

Well that dont make you smarter than me.... And I didn't even go to a 4-year college!!

Black Fork Creek starts in the neighbor just 2 blocks to the East of Clarkston. There is also a creek that flows under the parking lot of the strip mall behind BK and Mc D's that starts at the CB&I offices. All these flow NW right through the middle of the refinery and cross the north loop by the scrap plant.

How much down and what kind of payments can I axpect???

I know that very little of the water that falls east of the
lake ( I don't know where the line is exactly ) goes
east.

Lake Palestine has a very small watershed compared to
some other lakes of its size. Really don't know why
it stays as full as it does.

you go a little north = sabine , west = trinity , east =
angelina.

Ran needs to fall in the Edom, Ben Wheeler area for it
to do the most good for Palestine.

there is a pasture on FM 314 just south of interstate 20
where you can see the headwaters of the Neches, you can step across it and it is usually dry.
