It's been awhile since I've posted a fishing report because we have been so tied up hunting. Finally got on the water to fish Sunday instead of hunting and ended up doing pretty good. We were a little late to the party that morning as we didn't get headed out till almost 11am. Where still able to box a few fish and I knew exactly where I wanted to be that afternoon. We headed in for lunch and a short nap before heading back out that afternoon. On our two drifts before dark we boxed 12 fish on what was fast and furious action. Fish were caught drifting deep mud and shell on a popping cork and shrimp by customers. I threw a couple times trying a few different things and gulp under a popping cork worked as wells and bouncing them off the bottom. After talking with a few of the other guides they have been doing awesome as well throwing either shrimp or soft plastics. Don't just wait till the summer time to wet a line, give us a shout and get in on some of this catching that is going on the Matagorda right now! Enjoy the pics and to get more reports and many more pictures go to: http://www.run-n-gunadventures.com/report/viewforum.php?f=1

Planning a trip for this weekend do you think we should postpone because of the rain for and influx of fresh water. Thanks I would really like to go but don't want to get skunked and there is always some work to catch up on. Larry

It is really going to depend on where you were planning on fishing. Obviously the river is out and I would imagine that if you were planning on the East side of West Matty then that would be out as well. We have been spending most of our time in East Matty out in the middle over deeper water with a mud/scattered shell bottom. Where we have been I don't believe will be as effected as some other areas closer to the ICW or where backlakes feed from the North of ICW into the ICW and on into the bay system. We are planning to fish thur and fri so we'll see if things have changed then. Hope this helps.
