I just installed a troll well recess on my triton TR-185. My issue is with the drain line. both front compartment are carpeted and don't seem to have any drain holes. At the back of compartments there seems to be a opening that would lead back further into the hull. Anyone have any advice on a drain line location. It looks like I could drill a hole in the bottom of a rod locker and get the drain where I want but I don't want to drill blindly thru anything.

mine came with a small rubber hose that you used to let it drain into the hull...

I have the rubber hose and I even extended it. The issue is getting the hose to a drain location. Neither rod box seems to have a drain. I was hoping someone more familiar than I am with the hull layout could tell me where it would be safe to drill one that would drain.

I don't have a tray on my TR-186 but on mine there is a kick panel where all of the electrical and fuse box is mounted to under the dirver's side console if yo remove it you will see that it is open to the front rod storage compartment. When I replace my electronics I took that panel loose to pull the wires for the new tranducer through found all kinds of stuff that slid down there like a never opened first aid kit, can of beanie-weenie's barf. This is open to the slot running down the side of the drivers seat to the rear bilge area. Also you could remove the front deck console and look in there and see where the upper deck is. I'm sure it's like mine you can see it open and there you will see where the wires come from the rear bilge area also. Just a thought.

97fordnut, thank you. I think that's the answer to my question. I went out and looked, I have that access panel under both consoles. I will try it.

You should be able to go strait down from the deck to the v in the bottom to let it drain to.
