I have never thrown a swimbait on a bedding bass before, do you swim it buy or do you just throw it in there and jig it? Just cast it past the bed 8 or 10 feet, swim it up to the bed and let it fall in. They will crush it !!!! Pearl shad is a good color.

3", 4" or 5" tube. White or Smoke w/ blue & green flake. Sometimes red dipped tail. Sometimes switch it up with a sand or black neon colored finesse plastic.

.....Like said above, the bait shouldn't matter it about making the fish aggressive to where he wants to move the bait off his bed or get it out of the area!
If a fish doesn't act interested right away switch baits to see what makes him or her the most aggressive, they will let you know.
I start out with T rigged craw or lizard and go from there

3/8oz pegged TX rig with any bright colored worm(so i can see it easily)cut off right behind the hook bend. Don't make it too tough on yourself worrying about the right color or the right shape of bait, eatin is not their priority during the spawn.

White lizard on a short (6"), light weight drop shot. Shake that sucker in front of a bass' nose, and you WILL get bit.

You can use just about anything if you fish it right, and get 'em worked up. I saw a video of a guy use a piece of shoe lace and was catchin fish. I keep it simple: weightless senko, pretty much any color. Or I walk a frog over their head then let it set there, they usually crush it.
