Solunar Calender predicted great fishing Monday and Tuesday, Weatherman predicted three days of rain starting Tuesday. Conned Tim into being my wingman. Morning started 55.0 °F pressure 30.15in wind 6mph N and clear. Afternoon ended 60.1 press 30.05 in wind7 mph S and clear. Threw clousers and sinking buggers at the dam, nada. Waded the flats north of the marina and landed a 13in, 1.25lbs black bass on chart/white clouser. Tim took his first ever black bass on an olive bedhead bugger. Both near rocks/concrete structure, water was green and clear to 2 feet. Moved to the cove north of the 3002 SP boat ramp and Tim’s bugger tempted a big ole channel cat. His first cat caught, too. Slow and low strips along the timber. Water was brown and murky at a foot. We fired everything in our boxes at bass that were busting the surface, but no takers and had to call it a day. Fishing success when we expected the conditions to be tough and adding some nice “firsts” to a new fly fisherman’s list along with wide open wading made it a great day. Get Bent,
