I had some rods that were dirty and had mold on them. Used the Clorox wipes, thick ones in the purple container, and they look good as new! I now keep a container in the boat.

Good idea. I've also read that very fine sandpaper works well too.

I have used GoJo hand cleaner with pumice and they turned looking like new also. The wipes seem as if they would be easier to use.

You can also use a product called U-40 cork sealer when your rods are new and never have to clean them again, it keeps the oils from your hands from penetrating into the cork.
