There are a lot of stumps that are hidden in the lake. Unless you know the lanes, I assume you do not, just idle.

I would idle only. I hate running that lake.

Been on it with a guide who knows the lake pretty well. He would only idle on the upper end, I'd be super careful.

I was out there 2 weeks ago and ran to the lower end of the lake. Saw a couple that were out of the water in 20+ feet and shut it down. Made me pucker thinking about the times that i had been out there with the lake up and ran all over not realizing that there were big ones just below the surface.

If you don't know it don't run it. I can run to the dam, but it still makes me pucker because those big stumps down there are floaters and they move every year.

I've seen idiots run all the way to the north end with the water up, hope they don't try it now.

I have been fishing it for years and probably the one lake that still has pucker factor. Don't run the north end and keep an eye out main lake due to the main lake stumps (floaters). Once your out of main lake south idle only again.

Been with D-Hobbs in his boat a few times lately and followed a guy assuming he knew where he was going. He planed out in the main lake and came within inches of a two foot diameter widowmaker. Also, saw a guy planed out WOT coming from WAY back North, right down the channel I guess (or just plain oblivious)....Kept waiting for his engine to end up on his bow! That lake is not one to run on, and it's small enough to get where you need to go within a reasonable time...get a drink, sit back and idle!!
