@Shaun - It would be no competition...............for Ryan & Bob. The only experience I have with catfishing is when they are biting and I just happen to be there at the right time. Before kayak fishing, I've always been on the bank fishing with my surf rods fishing off the bottom with ghost minnows.

I here ya Ren. I've never targeted catfish myself. The closest it almost happened was last month. I went on bought $30 worth of catfish tackle,hooks,weights,etc.... To go with a kayaking group here on TFF. My truck broke down that weekend and I couldn't go. I need to get out there and put that tackle to use.

Will these work for catfishing? They've been sitting in the garage collecting dust since getting my Outback.

They sure will. I'd probably put some power pro braid on them or at least change the mono since they have been sitting unused.
Use a 3 way rig or sanatee-cooper rig.

I don't think it would harm a person to eat the catfish out of lw as long as you kept them under 5 lbs. I think they still have the ban on cats and buffs because with time they will absorb more toxins. If you bring a 20 lbs cat to the table of course it's a lot older animal. Therefore more harmful toxins. Just my opinion.

LW it is. I've got some shad from the SSSSSSL to use. I better get another rod holder installed. I want to have at least 3 baits in the water.

Oh and as far as bans or advisories are concerned I will NEVER eat a catfish that comes from any part of LW. I catch too many out of EM to have to worry about it. I don't know the absorbtion rate of PCB's in catfish. For all I know they're chocked full from spawn until death.

I think we're gonna go out there on Saturday and give em all a sore mouth!

Shane's was about 40lbs.

There are no quality catfish in Worth Only snakes. Best to look elsewhere if you are wanting to try your hand with some big blues.
