Lake is like some 40+ feet low. If you get your boat in the water be careful.

It takes a rediculous amount of rain to fill that lake.

I've seen it come up overnight from being near as dry as it is now, but that takes some record flooding to get that done.

It will come up some day, but it has to fall in a very small runoff area, and it's got to be in the double digit inches, for several hours or days.

Pretty grim, but it's the truth!

Hate to say, but we need a hurricane to roll through to bust this drought.

Problem with that is for a hurricane to do us any good it would have to hit right at Corpus Christi. would hate to wish that on anyone. but it would be helpful.

Reds is fine to launch at, stay in the river channels and you'll be fine. Not much of a LMB bite going on caught a couple dinks, theres some goos hybrid bite in the backs of the creeks, caught 5 or 6 good sized hybrids on spinnerbaits in the backs of the creeks and they were crushing it. Water was 58 degrees a few days ago. I was the guy that the Express news interviewed on the lake and they slapped a pic of me in the paper.

So I know its a negative that the lake is 80% empty but with the lake so low wouldn't that mean that 100% of the fish are in 20% of the water. I'm sure mother nature will address that during the spawning months but in theory finding fish should be easier. Yah or nah

SA express News did an article in the paper Monday reported it was 52ft low soon folks will be asking how’s the fishing at the pond. The only thing to say about the low levels is now the time to get the pics of the key structures

last i went a week ago or so, you could still launch at the county park but you are in rocks/gravel most of the way. You will have to go fairly deep with a big boat. Caught some black bass on a few of the points. Caught a few crappie in some coves on bass spinners and small shad tails.

For those of you familiar with Medina Lake, here is a current picture taken today of the lake from atop Turks Head looking north. I believe current lake level is 52' low.

Can anyone recommend any coves that may still have crappie in them?

Thanks
