Z520? Or?

520VX or Z520. They are both awesome boats. Same hull basically with different caps

Friend of mine is looking at rangers and was not sure what to buy.

Z20 if you want a great boat for less money, z 520 or 21 both great boats as well.

I'm in the same "boat". Looking for a used Ranger. I fish with Cody all the time and of course he's all about the 20. One of the pros I was with at Texoma Everstart swore by either the 19 or 21. His 21 was getting worked on, so he was using his wife's 19 that tournament and it handled those huge waves great. Not sure you can go wrong with Ranger any which way.

I hate to be that guy, but it's topical so why not?

I have owned 518's - 521's at one time or another and just lost out on a 522 a week ago, but your buddy cant go wrong with either the 20 ft or 21 foot models.....z520 is nice little hot rod and has the front deck space of an aircraft carrier

The Z520 or Z521 will probably go down as the best boats Ranger ever made.

Dang those 521s were rough. The z520 sure feels like a lot better ride. May be the same design just sure don't seem to handle/ride as good.

Z520 they get a good ride and r super nice. i have rode in the z20 and they were kinda ruff think they tried to make those more of a speed hull

The Z520 is basically the old 520VX hull with a modified 521 cap on it. They basically pushed the seats back about a foot giving you a bigger front deck and rating to a 250 vs a 225 the old 520 had. I have had a 330V, a 487VS, a 520VX, a Z21, and now a Z520 and the Z520 is by far my favorite of them all. I have not been in a Z521 but I hear they are great as well.

This one was a 521vx that I borrowed a couple weeks before mine came in. Prob a 2005 or 06.

Any Ranger is a Good Boat

The Z 520/521 is the best boat Ranger has ever built period! The Z520 is faster but the ride of the Z521 is second to none.My Z521 can still run 73 with full gas tanks and livewells. This boat is a beast!

I would go with the Z520 with out a doubt,hands down,no second thought, wouldn't even think of another model!!!!! Not to mention I just got my new one and have an 2009 Z520 for sale. All bull aside it sounds like you already know that a Ranger is the way to go. GOOD LUCK IN YOUR SEARCH

I would defiantly go with the 21 it has way more front deck than the 520.

?.....the z520 has the widest front deck of any of the models. Its like being on an aircraft carrier. Now the back deck is a postage stamp.

Well I haven't been on Ivie in a z520 but I have spent a lot of days on Falcon and Amistad in one and both of those lakes are far worse. That z boat was much better than the old 521 I used.

I am sure you are right JR- I fished Ivie a lot when I was in high school in my 16' astro- Maybe thats why I remember it being so bad- Ha ha
