Different people say different things and I understand that. But can anyone give me recent personal experience on running from south end of pines to north end right now. I know above 155 is bad but what about the rest of it.

South of where the boat road ends, stay in the middle. Basics, don't hug the shoreline and you will be fine. Split the difference all the way to the dam. Alley creek is tricky, enter at an idle and watch the rocks if you go in there.

I wouldn't run in the rows. Not right now. I been on that lake my whole life and have hit some stuff this year that I didn't know existed. I mean, if you could fall in behind some one that may work but you never know. And yes, those are some fat green heads hanging off a bad to the bone duck rig. Which is the only boat I would run in the lanes right now. I don't run my big boat in em till it comes up.

From 155 north, there is a small stretch where you can roll. Bit I'm Not gonna tell you where cause you'd go out and hit something there and be mad at me. That's kinda the mindset right now. If you see guys running, and you feel certain, get after it. Insurance put a complete lower unit, housing prop and all on that boat in my picture below. Got a buddy o mine that has had major fiberglass work done TWICE this year. Not trying to scare you but it still ain't safe for truckin. Good luck and I hope it helps.

There is a shallow flat just north of the big oaks ramp (which is out of water) that you can't run through. The locals have a name for it but I don't know what they call it. It is after you hit the poles heading north you make a left then another right and a long straight away. This gets real shallow here so if you like to get out an push your boat you may make it through there. otherwise you would need to learn how to run the river channel if you want to be able to get all the way from the dam to the 155 bridge.

There is a submerged bridge that will tee-total your boat IN the boat road directly in front of cedar springs ramp. It claimed an old aluminum boat of mine in 2006'

I ran my 21x3 from 155 to big oaks and back in the boat lane, I got on plane in the channel and stayed on plane until I hit the channel at big oaks. I wouldnt come off plane unless I was in the channel or you might get stuck.

Thanks for the input. Obviously want to be safe and don't really want to mess anything up, BUT it is nice to be able to move around quickly where it is okay in a tournament. I have a tourney in a couple of weeks and trying to figure out if boating from one end of lake to other is an option or if trailering is best. Thanks for all the comments and I welcome any more.

Don't run if you don't know period. Lots of stumps around anywhere there are poles. Personally I like it better for navigation as it is right now I can run on plane from big lake all the way to 259 but it's only cuz I have lots of time idling and laying trails and I learned the river channel 6 years ago when she was very low.

Correction "i could" run all up north, but crappie fisherman who like to tie off to the poles them selves to fish directly under their boat make running an impossibility. Don't understand why someone can't get 10 yards out of the river and just cast to it to get the hell out of the way.

Crud! Reading this makes me nervous, never been to Pines and have a tourney there in March.... Praying we get a ton of rain !!
BTW, I see the lake is currently 4 feet low, even at full pool how bad is this lake to run? Lower lake isn't bad at full pool, it's above 155 that's bad if you aren't familiar with it. There is a 2 or 3 mile stretch that there is no marking and you need to know where the channel is to run it. You can always punt and stay south and catch 5.
