It should track better just due to the Cuda is 14', I have had mine out several times and i do not have a rudder. This kayak tracks extremely well to me, I would think the rudder would be great to help the drift for fishing.

I have a rudder, it tracks very well. I use the rudder primarily like Palovik said for staying in line with the wind and tacking, and for that its invaluable at least to me. For turning, it doesn't help much.

I have the rudder on mine. Fished three days and never used it because of how well it tracked. I got the rudder mainly for the coast but predominantly fish rivers.

Here is a example of what a rudder does for me. I was on Benbrook and the wind was out of the south. The dam is on the north side of the lake. I was able to move down the dam east to west for 1.5 miles and never pick up the paddle. I had the rudder point the boat south and basically tac the entire length of the dam and then some.
