My BIL is flying in from massachussettes easter weekend. He want s to bring as much of his own stuff as possible but most of his reels are spinning reels. I know most people wouldn't fish with one on fork but was wondering if there is a situation in which you would use one that time of year. I have never been in april to fork, always in the middle of summer. If so I assume braid? I have plenty of stuff for him to use but he wants to bring his.

drop shots on beds are always a good option.

I throw drop shots and shakey heads on spinning gear all the time out there. But during april the big girls will be shallow and around cover, so i would be using the heavy gear more that month.

I thought of that just after the post. I know it varies some year to year but will the majority still be on beds or will there be a lot of post spawners? Again my first trip this time of year.

I use spinning gear all the time and have caught several good fish using them. Put a little heavier line like 15lb flou and he will be fine.
