I currently have an Ocean Kayak Drifter that I use for fishing - but I really don't like it.

I want a bit more comfort and a more stability so I can stand easier in it. I really don't like fishing in a kayak seating position.

I was looking at the Jackson Coosa--and feedback on that boat?

And motorized yaks...any recommendations?

Coosa Cuda and the Ride series are popular kayaks that allow you to stand and fish. And someone else can give you feedback on motorized I enjoy paddling so it isn't for me.

I have OK Drifter too and really like mine. Think this is a good example of:
ONE YAK DOESN'T FIT ALL.

smirk What year is your Drifter?
What are you in?
If it's fairly new & in good shape, it should be an easy sell. Get what you like! Could look at a Hobie PA & put a TM on it if you don't like to paddle/peddle. Might also look at a Jon Boat cause your gonna spend about the same amount of $ for a standup with a motor & regist.

I like the ability to be able to stand, and as I advance in age, the sitting position of the drifter plays havoc with my lower back.

Have you looked at the Hobie Pro Angler?

It has a very comfortable seat, you can stand to fish, and I've seen a Trolling Motor mounted to them.

The Coosa is a great yak for river fishing. It offers stand up stability, the comfortable high/low seating, a 300lb capacity, and all the innovation Jackson is known for. I will stress that the Coosa is a river fishing yak. It has a hull design that allows it to maneuver extremely well, up to Class III whitewater. However, this design also makes it slow on flat water. If you're paddling flat water, check out the Jackson Cuda. It's 14ft long, and very fast, but still retains stand up stability.

The Coosa and Cuda blow the Drifer out of the water for comfort, because of the high/low seating. It's very supportive, almost like a lawn chair. Also, it helps with stand up stability because you're a bit higher off the bottom of the yak, which makes standing up much easier than trying to do that insanely deep squat that you have to do in the Drifter. Plus, both the Coosa and Cuda have standing specific areas molded into the cockpit.

I fish out of a Hobie PA. I throw a 7' cast net out of it regularly. No problems as far as stability. I mainly catfish but know several guys like Shaun that bass fish from them as well.

Yes he is.

I would also suggest looking at the new Diablo line of yaks.
I saw them demonstrated at the SOC Conclave in October and they are sweet!!!

AND, they are made here in Texas!!!
