Me and the wife took friday off for her birthday, and surprisingly she wanted to go fishing. I went out the night before and caught bait and got everything else ready to try to make this a easy trip. We hit the water at about 9am, and it was still pretty calm. The first spot started slow, but about 20 minutes in and while we were talking about moving spots the first pole goes down. She reels it in and it's a new PB weighing 12 lbs banana. She also caught a 10 lb and two 8 lb blues in that spot before the wind picked up and we moved into hiding. The next spot we tried deeper water and only caught one little one that we didn't even know was hooked until we reeled everything in. The wind was blowing pretty hard and it was stirring up the mud creating mudlines in the shallower water. We anchored up and fished those lines and started getting bites pretty consistently. The fish were smaller, all the cats were between 2-5 lbs, but my wife also caught a 6 lb hybrid. It was a beautiful day to be on the lake, and I had a great trip. Got off the lake at 2pm, and we ended the day catching 19 fish, only keeping a couple of the small ones for dinner.

Great job and birthday to your wife. Beating a PB is a gift I'd want for my Bday. Congratulations!!
