Told him what, to take his crown off indoors? Actually, it looks like a high-rise condo in the MIddle East. That or grain elevators.

I'm seeing a Dos Equis style commercial starring Ken. "I don't always catch fish, but when I do, they are always toads".

I remember the first time I met Ken was at a diner in Mesquite on the square. He was working with Bruce Benedict at Jawtech Tackle and me and a couple of electrical contractor friends from Mesquite all went to lunch. He had on a big straw cowboy hat and cowboy boots. But what flipped me out was when he spoke. He had a southern drawl that would make any Texan proud, a lot more so than today. He was the first Asian Texan I had ever met. It was very confusing at the time.
Ken is a great guy, great angler and IMHO an ambassador to the sport. Glad to see him out doing what he does best, catching big ol' toads.

Stax sent me an old school "15 Pound Club" patch he picked up at Bass Pro the other day. I'm gonna sew it on my windbreaker along with all my other "scare" patches. That way everyone out there will know how good I am..... LOL

I was fishing next to Ken one day, when I say next to, I mean at a 45 degree angle and casting into the same 15 sq ft area. He and some of his clients caught 6-7 real quick...I caught one. We drifted towards each other and quickly switched spots. He's now where I was and I'm in his spot....again casting in the same spots...I get snagged....they catch 6-7 more between the time I went to get my lure, lost lure, and back to the spot.

He calls this luck... crying

If you want to be humbled, watch Ken run Monticello. He's a badazz.

I don't know Ken personally, but I've met him at Fork several times, usually at the ramp at Rainswood, where he would walk up on the way to his truck after fishing and ask how we did. He was usually modest and would say they had a little luck. The person(s) with him was usually talking about the great trip they had. After a couple of chance meetings, we would ask him how he did when we saw him because he always seemed to catch fish. Seemed like a nice guy. Congrats on the monster bass! Nice write up in the paper, too.

Gotta be the Basscat with the drive-in trailer. (Can't see photos at work). Ken had the first of those trailers I ever saw in person.

When I got mine there were only four or five in existence. Jimmy Houston & Hank Parker both had one with Hummingbird all over them. Zell Rowland had one too. Mine was built by the same guy from Lake Livingston.

Pretty cool way to haul your boat. It had fluorescent lights and a burglar alarm inside.

Ken, didn't you sell that to Bill Kells? I remember that rig at Rainswood just about everytime I was there. I lived in Sulphur Springs at the time and was on the lake 3 to 4 days a week back in the late 80's to early 90's. What a rig!

I did sell it to Ole Bill when I retired from guiding. He kept it 5 or six years then sold it to someone else, don't know where it went after that.

There is a full size door on the side opposite of the Berkely logo to allow you to get out. It was really easy to load and unload by myself. I would open the doors and back down into the water. Then I would enter the door on the front and crawl into the boat.
