Picket and Doty set the bar high with the best 5 fish limit we have weighed on Lake Tyler, topping second place by nearly 9 lbs they had an unbelievable weight of 34.11 lbs anchored with the second biggest bass of the day a 7.90 lb beauty. These guys had 5 kicker fish in their limit. Congrats!!!

The chilly weather did not dampen the appetite of the big girls on Lake Tyler today at all, several of the anglers reported catching fish all day.

Second place team Durwin Cooley and Kenny James had to feel good about their limit all day and rightfully so. Weighing 5 bass for 25.30 it would be hard to be upset. Hope that back gets better Kenny, he through out his lower back first thing this morning.

Third place went to one of the most consistant teams on Lake Tyler our 2011 Tyler Teams AOY's Rusty Russell and Jason James with a solid limit for 24.34 lbs.

Big Bass honors would go to fourth place finishers Frank Burkett and Eric Pottkotter with a 21.65 lb limit anchored by a beautiful 8.92 lb Big Bass.

Thanks for joining us guys. We are looking forward to our all Tyler Team Series with Tyler Championship that kicks off in February on the 19th at this time.

First the pics and then the results below:

Some Teams chose to release their fish after seeing the weights as no points were involved.

4 Frank Burkett/Erir Pottkotter 5 21.65 8.92 $130BB

Fast lane I figured 19 would have won when I felt the north wind howling this morning. Bass never cease to amaze me. Can't buy a bite in perfect conditions one day and a day like today a bunch of people catch them.

Any particular pattern that worked best?

Going out tomorrow afternoon for a little fun fishing and taking an older gentleman that doesn't get to fish that often.

very rare time when the perfect plan comes together. One of those days when you could do nothing wrong and every bite was a big bite.

Big Stringer On Tyler
Falcon Lake is getting most of the publicity as the best big bass lake in the state.

Not surprising based on a Bass Champs tournament there earlier this month that was won with a 45.52-pound five-fish stringer.

But the South Texas lake isn’t the only one requiring a big average for a tournament win. Last weekend Cameron Pickett and Bart Doty of Kilgore weighed in 34.11 pounds to win the JC Outdoors Team Tournament on Lake Palestine. The teams biggest bass weighed 7.9.

Although they had a 5-pound average with 25.3 pounds, the best Durwin Cooley and Kenny James of Tyler could do was second. Rusty Russell and Jason James of Tyler were third with a near-5-pound average at 24.34.

Big bass in the tournament was an 8.92 brought in by Frank Burkett and Eric Pottkotter of Flint.

One of the hard luck teams in the tournament was Robert and Partrick Lane of New Chapel Hill, who weighed in 19.13 pounds, including a 7.34-pound big bass, but didn’t finish in the money.

Falcon is the best lake in Texas period. There is no other lake that can produce the fish Falcon produces day n day out. Tyler is a great lake but it's not even close to Falcon.
Just my opinion..

That's pretty good for fishing in an aquarium. It's funny how people get so excited in catching fish in a small lake like Tyler. Been fishing Tyler eight years when I go up to visit my son. We go there because it's only fifeen minutes away and know we are going to catch them big.
