If you get a Z-9, you need to go with the 250. It's a big heavy boat and needs it. Mine will run low 70's by myself and a full fuel tank. Actually, the price with a 250 is $3,000 less than last year when I got mine. This is my second Z-9 and I had a 929 before that. I like everything about them. The front deck is huge and you have to have a lot of stuff to fill up all the storage. I really like the two pull out storage drawers. It rides as well as any 21 ft. boat I've been in. IMO, it compares with any boat in it's class for a lot less money. Nitro has come a long way from the old days. It comes standard with a 82# thrust Motorguide which I had on my last one. It did fine with that but I decided to go with the 109#thrust this time. It's only about a $125 option. I also went with the carpeted step between the seats instead of the center seat.In the past, I went with the 3 bank dual pro charger and the battery maintenance system which charged the trolling motor batterys from the big motor. This time, I went with the Stealth charger w/ guage. It does the same thing. I talked to the owner after getting it to get my gauge set up. He said if I run the boat at all, I should never need to charge my trolling motor batteries. He was exactly right on that. The only reason I plug up the AC is to be sure the cranking battery is charged up. You will need to upgrade the cranking battery when you get it. The one they put in is just barely enough to crank the motor. I also put an HDS8 in the console. With the incentives Tracker is offering right now, it is the time to buy one.

Thanks... what you suggested is the way I've been thinking about setting up the boat. It appears that Nitro has came a long way from their older boats. I just cant see paying 15 to 20K to get into a new Ranger or Triton over the new Nitros....I just dont see it.... Had both style in the past....

Go with the largest engine it's rated for. you will pay a little more up front but resale value and performance are improved. The $ saved over Skeeter/Ranger can be put into the larger motor. Also, the super wide front deck is a huge fishing bonus, six rods on each side and plenty of room to fish without stepping on your stuff. We sold 25 or Nitros in 2011 and had very low warranty claims.
