Thanks Guys!
One of the only times we have ever had fish of those size on those spots. We really didn't expect to do any good and we sure didn't expect to win with 25.70, even when we were heading to weigh-in. With all the large stringers on Rayburn lately and VERY MANY tough competitors we expected it to take 30+ lbs to win. It was just meant to be! banana

Congrats, tough day down there for me. Woke up at 1:50 hopped in the truck and made the long trek down there. Got there for take off about mid lake ran into fog scary run on up to Harvey , had a limit in about twenty minutes but they were all small so I moved up into Indian with the crowd then the front blew in and I ran out of talent. Struggled the rest of the day. Made the long run down got airborne about a 100 times nearly killed my fish. Didn't feel they'd get me a check so after the abusive ride down I just let em go and loaded up and headed out. 435 miles round trip. Tried a 5 hour energy for the first time that stuff tastes nasty.

There is definately something to be said for WINNING a big tournament on Rayburn. In my opinion, you are fishing against the best group of fishermen and jackpotters in the country.. Great win fellas!!

When the front blew in did you see the cloud or whatever it was rolling thru Harvey... it was weird looking... went from the water to the sky...

We saw it "roll" through! But we did catch some fish after the passage too.
And then enjoyed the rough ride back in!!!

You had never caught fish that size there because you had not fished there. You saw my partner on that spot last sat in bass n bucks, you're partner admitted as much when he ran up to Dicky Friday night at the stump and asked what our boat number was because he knew we were coming there. Im not going to get into an argument with you here, You can say whatever you want here to try to save face, but you know, your partner know, and we know you jumped our spot, and the only reason you were there was because you or mr ponytail saw him. You want to take it up with me I'll be at the next bass champs event down there, come see me. You got lucky and drew boat number 2 and have no problem fishing others peoples water, that's the only reason you won.

Sounds like old KenTx is B-Hurt and calling people out. I guess nobody can fish next to these guys or find the same spots without being on there spot. You got beat move on it happens if he never fished there before how did he see you he did not follow you in there b/c if he did you would have been there first.

Ken maybe you should be a little smarter about protecting your holes. At the end of the day it's a public reservoir and if you tip people off on a great spot and expect it not to get pounded you're going to experience a lot more disappointment in the future. Not trying to be a jerk, just stating the obvious.

Joe I knew where McCall was catching those giant stringers last year, I know where Shook and Iles caught the 38 a few weeks ago, i will never fish those fish, they found them, I saw them there, not the same thing, it's integrity, some guys have it, some don't.

Maybe thats where the phrase "luck of the draw" comes from. Need to have more than one area to fish during tournies!

You guys crack me up. How about you congratulate them on their catch, instead of discredit their win. Dont ya think that is what your "sponsors" would want you to do. You dont own the water. When I won bass champs someone was on my best spot on the entire lake. Guess what... I went to a plan B spot and caught almost 30 pounds. Adjust. Bass champs is a trail that usually draws 200 boats!!!!!! You honestly think you are that good that you have found a single spot (where it will be won i might add) and you are the only boat out of 200 to find it. \

Congrats on the win guys. What an incredible experience. Haters gonna hate!

There is no private property clause in any tournament rules - sometimes the guy that gets your spot isn't even fishing the same trail - some will even try to crowd you off your spot even if you did get there first - integrity? very little of it left in the sport - just the way it is - Really no use crying about it here............

I don't post on this site much, but KenTx your post is one of the most classless posts I have seen on here. I appreciate your passion for fishing, but to accuse these guys of hole jumping and essentially "pissing" on their parade in a public forum such is this site is cowardly. Then to basically challenge them to a "dual" is comical.

I have fished Bass Champs for many years and understand that every Saturday the the spot I prefished and found fish may be occupied when I get there... If it is, I move on during the tournament and after.

Grow up... and understand a WIN is a WIN. Public lake, luck of the draw, and the ability on that day to catch 25+ pounds of black bass equals $20,000. Don't disrespect this wonderful sport by bringing that trash on this forum.

Great win guys! Congratulations!!

Ken, what are you thinkin? I consider you and Dicky good friends of mine and respect you both, but this is not the place for this, not on a public forum. It's Rayburn, it's fishing small and this stuff happens everyday. Ford told me Saturday morning at the shop that they drew boat 2 and had no where to go, did not say anything about havin to beat someone to there hole and he is in the shop alot. Talked to him at weigh-in and he still said nothing about what happened on the water, I heard about it from some other people. Next time take it up with them in person, this is the last place you want to open a can of worms. Just win the next one, I know if gotten in a few of these over spot jumpin, but this is not the place.........Ron and Charles I don't care what the story is, Congrats on your win, hard to win Champs on this lake!

No dog in this fight and don't care...

As a general comment it is sad the number of folks that can't find fish and rely on the bent pole pattern. A tournament this year after the weigh in I was eating lunch at the marina and the guys two tables down were talking about how they couldn't find my boat on practice day or during the tourney. They didn't know that I wasn't in my regular boat! I guess they didn't know what I looked like just what my boat was.

It was a weird day for us to say the least. Not the way I really wanted to start the year, or the way I wanted my first bass champs tourney experience to go. Left Nac at 4:30 am and got pulled over right before getting to the dam for a trailer light going out and that sorta set the tone for the day for us. We were boat 95 but were the last boat up the lake due to motor problems. Finally got to our first spot and put 3 keepers in the boat pretty quick but that was all it was good for. On our way to caney around 10:30 I blew my engine up. So we called the emergency number given to everyone at registration and talked to some lady on the phone about what happened. Instead of sending one of bass champs pontoons out for a tow in, which is what we suggested, she told us to wave a competitor down for a tow in. It's hard to complain too much since it was our problem that my motor blew, but in my opinion it's pointless to even have an emergency contact if that's the best they can do... Asking someone fishing a tournament to tow you in that far from the ramp is not a reasonable solution at all. I know bass champs is the most prestigious tournament trail in Texas but I was pretty disappointed about that. But it is what it is. We will be back for the rest of them. We dumped our fish and went home after. Not the way I really wanted things to go but that's fishing I guess.
To the people on here trying to bash on the winners, man up and give credit where it's due.
Congrats to the winners. See y'all next month hopefully!

Wow all this because I wanted to congratulate a fellow tff member. This is why I don't fish champs or Rayburn period. I fish for funder. If I wanna fight with someone or listen to someone whine I'll go to a beauty salon.

I can not believe this!!!!!!! Ken how did you find this spot? Did you just troll over it or was somebody else there when you came across it? I did not know you could start claiming spots on the lake. I guess the next tournament I am in and a boat is in my spot I will tell them to move because it is my spot. Nice win guys. I guess you have a new spot that to claim now.

First, congrats to the winners! Great job!

Second, to the person that complained, what a whiny little baby! Last I knew that is a public lake, anyone can fish any spot they want on that lake, the wiiners got a better draw they got to the spot first! You got out fished, congratulate the winner and move on!

To the guys that have chastised me for doing this on a public forum, maybe this wasn't the best place, however if I don't then I am saying this is acceptable behavior, and it is not. As to "hole sharing", that is a different issue, I fished 12 tournaments last year, won 2, so I lose more than I win like everyone else, I have been beaten to spots and have beaten others to same, however not a spot I saw them catching them on, but a spot I found and the other guys found legitimately by FISHING, not watching others. So to all you that defended this behavior, your the guys out there watching those of us that put in the effort and hard work through binoculars (yeah we see you) or idling circles around us while we practice or tournament fish. If you defended THEM then you would do the same and frankly I could care less what you think of me because by your own admission you are the same type of guys. As to the guy that said quit whining and go find other fish, we did, check the results.

ROTFLMA completely off! I think I saw this same thing posted last year. Maybe you guys should move to a larger lake with more fish! Who did Dicky see sitting there? LOL!!!

Ken, you need to take matters like this off the forum. Privately. Sorry you think you were the victim of "hole jumping" and it cost you a win, but don't come on here discrediting the guys who won. As said, it's Rayburn.

In response to your comments about them looking you up at the next event, you're the one that's mad, not them. If you'd really wanted to address the alleged situation you would have done so ftf. Instead you chose to use the TFF in an attempt to belittle the winners, and that's unacceptable.

Normally we would lock or remove this thread, but we'll go ahead and leave it up if you guys can keep it between the ditches.

Ken, I can't disagree with you in principle, but I absolutely agree with McCall in the whole, time and a place for everything. You can't win your case in this court of public opinion for sure. I am not privy to the intimate details here but on Rayburn this is an issue every tournament. I don't know if they did or didn't know about that spot but you have guys that will get on top of you and guys that just WON'T. I went practice fishing with a friend a couple weeks ago and we found a spot loaded with fish. Another friend saw my buddy smoking them there in a tournament and decided to fish those fish yesterday in the Champs event right along side both of our boats. McCall knew exactly where those fish were and he stayed well away. He did the same thing last year when he knew where Keith and I finished 2nd in a Champs event. HE won't - others will. Interesting side note - I saw McCall catch a couple yesterday and have literally 4 boats just converge on him in seconds. I wasn't even in his boat and I got angry.

In response to these guys talking about "spots" and how nobody owns them. I agree nobody owns them, but guys need to do their own work and quit trying to live off of others. I always tell my friends to NEVER tell me where they are because then it is off limits to me. I know Ken and Dicky pretty well and can say that these are two of the good guys in this sport. They are class acts and men of integrity and honor. I think the sting of this one simply got the better of Ken and he actually put into words what all good fishermen feel when this happens. Since I'm not a good fisherman, I rarely get this feeling, but when you do, it sucks.

Good call Fouzman he had his chance to call him out FTF in the parking lot after the tourney but chose to come on here and show his real man card. Ken how's it feel to get called out now that it's your turn on how classless this really is?

We have fished Rayburn Bass Champs for years and when we prefish people would see us could not help but seeing the wrap boat and come right by us and waypoint the spot and move on happens all the time it's fishing at Rayburn. If we ever had a problem we took it face to face or left it alone but never came on here and called someone out.

It is getting horrible on lakes with heavy competition. We fish champs too and had three boats during the course of the day that shut down out of running down the lake idle right by us punching stuff into gps and leave. Knowody owns anything out there but if you have to take advantage of somebody elses hard work and time to win then you are no better than robbie rose. I heard of a few wrap boat characters fichin bass rayburn too who apparently do it all the time. I aslo know of a big tourny on toledo that was wn by a guy going during some other big tournaments and following mr jeane and a few other local sticks around to see where they caught fish then bc he has more money than brains he can outrun eugh guys to get there. I guess some people have skill some well some just have money to ride around and follow real fisherman.

One solution now ken. Burn the hole. What i have done in the past. Post some coordinates let everyone fish it then if they are hole jumpng they will have t go hunt somebody else. I had a couple i burn by putting the meat hunters on the spots. I've also relocated my tops too. Rode and a big snag treble tow the tops off.

Ken, you know I meant no direspect, forum just a bad place to argue about it. Everyone knows that we had a bad deal last year in the first champs, where two guys told there buddies they saw us win the Anglers Quest 3 weeks before Champs. Then we finished second in V&M on that spot the next week, so they beat us there in Champs and neither one of us handled it the right way. I learned somethin from it though. And yes they too won the tournament there after we left. It sucks but thats Rayburn. Get in the boat with me sometime on a trap bite and you will really see how bad it is. The lakes low, its fishing small, and you can't hide anything.

Ken, Dicky is a friend of mine and this is all in good fun. You need to send Dicky to Toledo. It's hard for people to just "run in" on top of you right now. Also, there are a ton of stumps sticking up and most of them are sticking up enough that Dicky won't even have to duck to hide behind them!

Whoa Hoa there buddy!
First off we didn't fish BassNBucks last week!!!! AND the reason my partner asked Dicky what his boat number was because we were lucky enough to draw #2 and we always joke that Dicky get's boat #1! (It's a running Joke that he always gets the best draw! LOL.) When Dickie asked him if we were on the same fish we could not answer because we DIDN'T know where Dickie's fish were at!!!! But if you ask your partner when was the last time that He and Charles saw each other (or ME!) on that spot he will tell you it was over 10 years ago during a Sealy tournament and at that time HE asked my partner if "he could fish that stump?" and my partner said yes and Dicky caught a 4 lber and then left. (Notice I said "the Stump" not the river.) I checked those fish Wednesday week before the off limits and didn't even know that Dicky had been fishing that spot. I can tell you several people that saw me prefish that spot also. As for it being "YOUR WATER" well I didn't see a "Dicky Only Fishing" sign there!!! In this instance I can Honestly say and will Swear with a Polygraph that I had not seen Dicky there or knew it was his SECRET FISHING hole. I do notice that the only time that you post on the TFF is to stir up trouble. Yes I will see you at the Next tournament!!!!

Then why did you partner say "we will see you on that spot"...his exact words Friday night at the stump "we will see you on that spot". How could he have possibly, possibly known where we would start, he saw us there, when we shut down he yelled "hey Dicky"

Again it's a running joke with Charles and Dicky because they have been fishing for so long that alot of the old holes are known to many. Also, its a mind game to tell somebody "see you there". I guess it's not really "proper" to recognize somebody on the water and call their name????
Look at my boat. Do you see that BIG HONDA on the BACK? Do you honestly think I can sneak up and spy on somebody on the lake without being seen???? rolfmao And Charle's boat has not been on the lake in over 3 months. With that big "refrigerator" on the back of my boat, on the lake I can't hide from ANYBODY! banana Also, it was a polygraph question that we didn't receive ANY assistance from anybody else telling us where to fish on the lake. That includes anybody else that knew of Dickie's secret honey hole. So, no we could not make plans the night before to lighten the load on my "pig boat" to out run everybody to the "Dickie" hole"! rolfmao
Like I said before we didn't know it was a place that Dickie had been fishing, but I will commend DICKIE on his class act and not trying to push us off the deep end of the river. So, I decided to share the water and let you guys fish the spot that we believed you wanted to fish and that was the stumps and the shallow ridge that Dickie had asked to fish "years ago". I believe that the topic can now be closed. I have told the truth and if you want to believe that we deliberately "stole" your hole then I hope you sleep good at night believing that. I will not apologize for catching fish on that hole because I worked hard looking for fish prior to the off limits and honestly found those fish on one of our old holes. I can even let you see the gps number that had to be marked BEFORE the lake went down.

How come Dicky never posts? Is he not a computer guy? Could some one help him out it might be entertaining.

I don't know either party and am a non biased participant so I can help settle this but first I'll need more details and maybe gps cords on this "spot" and maybe the "how to's" if it's deep I'm a crappy deep fisherman. I need to survey the location "re-create" the crime scene myself to rule on it. Oh and I'll need to do it next month during chaps and I have a slow boat so maybe every one stay off it for me.

This is the best post since the RR scandal, only this time we have both parties participating. BTW I don't have a dog in this hunt, just find it entertaining.

After reading this thread from now on I'm gonna concede my fishing spots to all tourny fishermen and women, particularly if their boat is wrapped. sarcastic

Maybe he couldn't find him or couldn't wait around for him ???

There are many circumstances where a person would not be able to "confront" someone face to face. Not saying that either circumstance came into play here because I am not privy to that information, but there are times when a face to face is not possible.

Not all of them, just the ones where they are catching them. The exact ones. His old tractor is down there too

Yep, like when someone is going to get their arse handed to them. Then they magically get a set of balls when they're behind a keyboard and a couple hundred miles away.

So you are familiar enough with both parties to know with absolute certainty who would get their arse handed to them ???

Hey Ken,
Next tournament hand out flyers to all the boats ahead of you informing them of "your" spots. If they have the same integrity as you, your spots should be clear. NOT. Out of two hundred plus boats on Rayburn you think you and your partner have found something that half the field did know about.

GROW UP.

Of course he should, didn't you see all the "pro-staffer" information in his signature block, and he is holding up a BFL trophy, I wonder how many spots he fished that belonged to other anglers on the Red River. KenTx1962 is a fishing god.

Again, well done Ron and Charles.

This will be a 3 round bout with the stipulation that the loser leaves the lake! One Rule, "No Low Blows Junkyard Dicky"!

LETS GET READY TO RRRRRUUUUUUMMMMMBBBBBBBBLLLLLLEE!!!!!!!

I think some of you mis the point when people say hole jumper. Nobody means they "own" water. It means poeple who fish something only because either A somebody they now who is doing well and who they are jelous of is catching fish and they saw them fishing somewhere. B they see somebody even they dont know catching fish and go fish there only because they cant find fish some where else. C they hear such and such caught 30 plus lbs over near the north corner of xyz hump and go to hunt it dwn. The point is those hole jumpers typically dont have a shred of talent and would never have fished said place without taking advantage of somebody elses time, skill, and or work. It's like brush piles. I have no problem withsomebody finding my brush piles if they find it studying a map and searching the key structure and fish it and find it. What i do have a prblem with is when i am fishing a hump not on any top, long away from common fish areas or any boat lanes and some prick sees me and says hey what is that guy fishing let me go see. I dont hunt boats down i study structure.

Ok guys I just got back from Church. Yes I said Church. Those of you that know me know that I go to church and I don't lie or cheat or steal. So to be accused of "dis-honorable" intentions does not set well with me.
So part 1:
I was in Houston last Friday and Saturday at Bass Proshop in Katy. Got the receipt and I am trying to print/scan/copy it for "evidence". SO I COULD NOT HAVE BEEN ON THE LAKE WHEN THE SAID ACCUSATION WAS MADE THAT I SAW HIM ON THAT HOLE!!!!
part 1b:
I am trying to find the boat launch pass for Wednesday Jan. 11 from Castle Boykins to show that I was on the lake that day when I said I checked out our OLD hole.
part 1c: Charles was at a funeral on Saturday so he could not have been there also.

Part 2:
I can understand his statement about "knowing what really happened" and as Paul Harvey said "this is the rest of the story". Dickie and Ken were "miffed" that they were not catching any fish on the shallow side of the hole. They were not catching any fish throwing:
Lake Fork Flutter Spoons, C-rig Baby Brush Hog, Jig and a Jerk Bait.
They had the opportunity to follow our lead when I caught a 4lber out in the deep water. But there are not many people that can stand to fish 25' of water. But they stuck to their "shallow" water pattern. AND they were not throwing Bass Kandi Trick worms, Bass Kandi Baby Brush Buster's and they were NOT fishing Bass Kandi Swing Hook Jigs, and they were NOT fishing C-Rig's with Bass Kandi Football Slip sinkers AND they were definitely NOT NOT fishing Drop Shot. (Dickie does not fish drop shot!!!) AND they were not fishing Vicious Fluorocarbon 10 and 15 lb line.
(disclaimer: all notations of branded products is meant to promote sponsor products!!!! banana)

So in all reality we should be thanked that they did not catch any fish on the pattern they were fishing and they had to leave and go find better fish. Which they did and ended up getting a check.

the only pic you need to post is a pic of your 1st place plaque and the 20,000 dollar check.

I fish a 5000 acre lake that is highly pressured and have those experiences daily. Yes it sux but it has become part of the game unfortunately. If i called out every person that does this i would spend more time typing or arguing with people than fishing. All i can say from experience is spend more time working on plan b than worrying about plan a cause it is gonna happen. I am not saying i agree with it or that it even happened just that it does no good to argue about it.

Note to tournament anglers in Texas: NONE of you own any spot on Rayburn or any public lake in Texas. Any angler who thinks that way is arrogant and foolish. Again, they are public lakes.

Just who gave anyone the right to say a spot is theirs? Just because you had practiced or fished or were born on a spot matters not. I don't fish tourneys anymore and I have never moved in on another boat on a spot but I won't move off a spot I am fishing just because someone "thinks" it is "their" spot.

Havent posted in about a year but for gods sake...I fished champs on falcon and was boat 68 out...I think the other 67 were on every spot I wanted to fish...oddly enough some of them even cashed checks...Bastards must have known what I was doing because I was there in a different boat 2 weeks before.......

The real weird thing...i didnt cry or whine about it..I went out learned something new and had a good time. I know that may be an odd thing to do. Having fun fishing...

The thought that anything on these lakes is truly a secret is laughable...I grew up fishing salmon and trout back east...nothing but deep structure...oddly others found those spots also. I never really remember anyone crying, cussin, or looking for someone in the parking lot. However there is a house here in San Antonio that runs a boxing ring to keep kids off the streets.

Perhaps Gandy needs to start one to help settle hole disputes on these lakes.

Ken I dont know you or really any of these people here but I cannot believe someone showing credentials and affiliation like you do in your sig line could possibly think this is respectable behavior.

Coming on here and doing this whether right or wrong in the situation makes you look like the 3rd graders I used to teach. Put on your big boy panties, stop pouting in the corner, get your head back down and work harder again. Id bet there was more than one good spot on Rayburn that day...you just didnt know when or where to be.

I cant wait to see how ProzVsJoez and Big Bass Mania go down there...Should I just bring my boxing gloves? I have never been on either lake so I imagine im sure to screw over someones spot.

Just another good example of why I don't fish tournaments any more. Fishing is supposed to be fun or so I thought.
