I have a '99 Champion 203, with a Yamaha OX66 VMAX 225HP, Boger Custom 27M Prop. What speed should I expect from this setup? I'm curious, because I feel I should get more than I'm getting and am thinking about going to see Steve and have him adjust setup and tweak the prop if necessary. Thanks.

If I remember correctly, its 5800RPM, 69 to 70 MPH, with just me, and lite on fuel.

Also remember the speeds you see on the internet, always subtract about 5 mph. And subtract 10-20 if they quote their speedo speeds....

Sounds like it's moving pretty good for that rig, I'd give Steve a shout anyways just to get his opinion.

That boat and that motor should run 73 light,70-71 fishing load. If you aren't getting enough lift to make it float, you aren't getting enough lift.

The speed was Lowrance GPS speed. Speedo says I'm going about 76 which obviously isn't correct. I think I'll take it out to Steve and see if he has time to take it out for a run. Thanks everyone input.

Pat said exactly what i was thinking.
72-74 depending on load.
boger does a great job on those props, but you may need a lil more cup in it.
OR!! how much do you weigh? that could hurt the speed too.
