Anyone that has not tried these man these reels are sweet. I like others didnt like the way Shimano went with there reels and they may be just as good as the E's but I decided to find a different reel and went with these Lews and they are awesome small light and smooth.

Good Luck. Enjoy. If you like Pflueger, Pinnacle and BPS you will like the Lew's. They cast great,........

They feel really good but I'll wait to see how they last. I have Shimano's that have been workhorses and bought up a few Chronarch 100d's when they went to the White Curado.

I still have all my Curados but not buying the new Gs they came out with kinds retarded to have to pay 200 now for a Curado thats called a chronarch thats rediculous. And the Lews is nothing like the 3 you mentioned at all nothing close IMO I have used all those at some point and there is no comparison that I see.

Well that may be so but I have torn down hundreds of them and I promise I can install a main Drife Shaft from a Rick Clunn reel into that thing with no screws left. When I am through I can take a Pflueger President Shaft and Install it in the Rick Clunn and then put a Revo Shaft int the Pleuger and then the Revo inthe Garbage since I don't have any pinnacle parts in STock. LOL!

You do realize that all (including Lews) four plus the Revos are probably made in the same factory in Korea, right? I own and love my Lews tp1hl, but I am not ignorant of the facts.

I came to the conclusion a long time ago that I was buying reels that I thought would be "as good as a Shimano" and was always disappointed. Now, in my old age, all I buy is Shimano in the first place.

There's always Daiwa... stir

IMO, shimano hasn't really hit that balance of being more comfortable to use and better performing than the rest of the market since the early days of the curado B. Not to say they aren't "the best", but if a customer feels a reel is just mediocre, it doesn't matter for how long that reel will stay mediocre, they're still not always going to "settle" in performance for that perceived durability advantage.

The Lews/BPS/Revo/Pure fishing reel platform is one that has some reels with nice features, and some at great prices. The reels are durable (enough) that there are cases where I like one of the reels for certain feature(s) that are not offered at the same price in Shimano's lineup. I think that's why that whole platform has been an overwhelming success (much to the chagrin of the old schoolies).

Daiwa is like the Ferrari of fishing reels. Beautiful to look at, aggressive performance, best technology (even their DC system dominates Shimanos), and just a plain joy to fish with. Shimano would be much like a Mercedes or a BMW, not quite on par with higher end Daiwas, but are reliable, comfortable, and relativaly maintenance free. Most other companies are like Ford and Chevy. Basically the same internals with a different company badge. I would be hard pressed to see the internals of a Lews after a heavy usage season. I bet they don't hold up to the abuse that a Daiwa or Shimano can.

Daiwa has geniouses designing their reels, and chimps doing their marketing though...

It is truly a testiment to how good their reels are when you look at how well they do in spite of themselves.

Don't ever venture into Itos, Megabass, or Ize. Lol. I agree they have the best craftsmanship, however their midline reels like the Aggrest, Advantage, and for now we'll exclude the T3 Ballistic; get very minimal attention because so few people know what they are. They would make a killing if they dropped the Zillion to $200 MSRP.

For the price Shimano is hard to beat.

If diawa did drop the zillion to 200 they couldn't keep them on the shelves. I used to have 2 zillions and sold them both. Personally I don't like the diawa just because of how they sit higher up to me on a rod seat. Just my opinion though. As a whole the reel is the greatest fishing reel I've ever felt. Right now I'm trying to decide between the lews tournament speed spool and a quantum smoke
