They sure aren't trying to hide it. I wonder how long it has been going on. That's why I won't eat from any part of the Trinity, regardless if they say it's ok. It's still the trinity, it's the drain pipe for all the dishonest people around it.

Well tpwd does have bans on all parts of the trinity...been that way for a while.....this news story just explains why!!!

I looked at thier website and they are selling bacon for over $6 per pound. They can afford to use normal wastewater treatment.

You will notice pork plants like Owens sausage near the Richardson Plano border has no problem correctly handling pig blood or parts.

Here again we find a company that is willfully violating laws meant to protect the rest of us, and doing it while under the supervision of government "inspectors." Sounds just like when the major banks failed while doing shady deals with toxic home loans, all under the supervision of government monitors.

If this turns out as foul as it appears I think the "inspectors" responsible for checking this plant should get the boot from their cushy government jobs. That might motivate their colleagues to get serious about doing what the tax-payers pay them to do.

This is so , but I could think of worse things to be dumped

doing...

Funny thing is that those are the ones we know of, I would imagine just about every industrial business from the Naval air base on down illegally pollutes the trinity river.

Hell yeah , and they haven't only ruined the Trinity but
also Mt. Creek is shut down for taking eating fish....

There are big ole fish and critters in the trinity...ya dont have to eat em....

While I do enjoy taking fish for my own consumption ,
I don't really think eating fish was my main point here .
Besides , unless it ment my life , I would never eat from
the Trinity...uck !!!

Back in the late 50's and 60's , south of Big D ,the stench was really bad.They must have a lot better processing system now,but its liquid s..t.
After a flood back then,when the river went down there would condoms hanging in the trees like decorations on a Xmas tree.

Oh I know there is some good fishing in the Trinity or
at least there use to be . Have taken many a cat fish and gar
from it , but that was futher on down south of Dallas .

Shame about the River Kinda hard to defend the folks at Columbia when they have aerial pictures of a river if blood and piping from the plant to the river. A fella can't really play dumb on that one.

Took a canoe down the Trinity from the low water dam by Beach street to 19th street bridge in Grand Prairie. I find it amusing that there is a stink about pig blood being dumped into the Trinity after that trip. There are a lot of wrecking yards along the bank on the north side of the river that get flooded which I'm sure add oil, antifreeze and battery acid to the river. On down the Arlington city dump is on one side and when it rains water filters thru the garbage/etc. into the river. Also the Arlington wastewater plant runoff goes into the river via Rush creek. Further down the Grand Prairie dump does a similar filtering into the trinity. Just a short stretch and we haven't hit Dallas yet!

Forgot to add I saw a 5 foot long Flathead laying on the bottom behind the old Wax museum.

Yeah that was my point about beating a dead horse. The Trinity has been dirty for awhile its nothing new lol. Did you take the canoe out there today? I was thinking about beating the bank down there for a little while after work but wasnt sure about the water clarity/ etc.

While understanding the bennies of damming for the purpose
of creating a lake , I don't think these dumbies are ever going
to learn you can't dam a river every 10 miles without killing
the river,both fishing wise and the flushing of fresh water....
