I look at three good reasons why I am primarily thinking of buying one this weekend:

1. I know a LOT of really good anglers that have paid retail for one and talk about seeing a real difference in catch rates when they use it. These are no pro staff guys and some pretty strong local sticks taht have had plenty of success without it and have nothing to gain by promoting it.
2. You don't see any in the classifieds sections of fishing forums. If it was a gimmick you swould see guys unloading them.
3. If nothing else I think it will mask the sound of my trolling motor and sonar ping.

I have done a little reserach and purposely held off buying one till I saw some feedback and some kind of track record. My logic might be flawed but I am almost at the point of buying one. They are actually installing them free if you buy one at the Fun N Sun Boat Show this weekend.

Have you heard anyone who has one bad mouth it or say it does not work. Those that have it have already seen what difference they can make sometimes, all the time? probably not but I have seen some crazy stuff by having it, and go on flat out catching sprees once you get it dialed in to what the fish want. Just another tool to increase catches, blows my mind what it has done the last month or two since I had it.

I talked to the Hydrowave guys at the show today and would also casually notice how they talked with other visitors and one thing I was impressed by is no hard selling. They simply answer your questions and tell you about the product but they are not hyping it up in a gimmicky way at all.

I bought mine as a self Christmas present and have used it several times and I believe it is time to endorse it. Before I got it, I had been skunked on Falcon 3 times this year. Since I've been using it I have caught at least some bass. This last Wednesday morning, my wife and I tore 'em up. We found them in 3' of water by flipping brush hogs in the larger trees in the brush. When I would turn the HW off, about 5 mins later, nothing, couldn't buy a bite. Turn the HW back on, about 5 mins later, we were tearing them up again. I'm originally from the "Show Me State", (Missouri), and was somewhat sceptical until Wednesday. Now I'm a believer. The thing isn't a magic bullet, but It could be close. Every time I've used it and it worked, I've caught more than I did before I bought it.

I had another time that almost made me a believer, but I wanted to see it happen more than once. That time, I chunked an 8" worm to some rocks on the shore and caught a 3 lber. Next cast nothing. I turned the HW on and caught 13 3 to 4 lber's on 13 casts to the same 20' of rocks. I'm sold.

Wow, you said a mouthfull with the part I put in bold. It can be a little iritating figuring out what the fish want, but wow is it fun when you do.

I do a lot of co-angler fishing. Would it be bold of me to take a hydrowave with me to the tournaments just in case they don't have one. That assumes that you can hook them up easily from boat to boat.

I have given it a definite maybe. Seems to move baitfish around in a good way. There are sometimes it probably helps. Not sure that there aren't times you would be better off leaving it off.

Gives you something to play with.

Come on down to Anglers Pro Tackle at Fun in Sun Marine today. Rick Wallace has done a great job putting together an "AWESOME" tackle show with some great vendors. I will walk you through the HydroWave demo and let you choose for yourself. I will give you personal testimony and some feedback that I have gotten from others. My friend Fred "BOOM BOOM" Roumbanis will be there and you can quiz him on anything from froggin to HydroWave. He is a great guy and great teacher. God Bless and hope to see you there. I'm on my way.

Just food for thought. But if and I say if it really works will heavy pressured lakes like fork with lots of people useing it cause a effect kinda like coyotes that hardly come to varmit call.

Gene, KJ will be there, too. Ask him about the day this summer when he and Kent Cella were fishing Fork, and pulled a school of fish away from another boat not one, but three times.

It seems to me, the people that have them seem to believe in them and think they help, at least a little.

The people that don't have one say they are a fraud and useless.....until they get one and then they seem to believe in them and think they help, at least a little.

I have never seen indisputable proof they work, but if they give the fisherman confidence, then they work.

Stopped by the booth at Fun N Sun tackle show and Brandon Dickenson gave me a demo. I am impressed and look forward to seeing one in action.
When I become a boat owner I would definitley have one on board, how often do we find comfirmed schools of bass that just will not bite. Would be fun to fire it up and see the difference it makes.

Kelly Jordan was asked about it at the show Saturday. He thinks it will increase the number of bites you get by at least 10%. He said he would never go out without one. Good enough for me.

sounds about right what K. Jordon said, I think it helps increase bites, which is always a positive. I just wish I could get mine wrapped like KVD's, it would match the boat.

When you turn it on and select the sound you want...MAKE SURE YOU PRESS PLAY!! and adjust the volume.

I have been out there selected a sound and forgot to press play a few times and realized it after time. Another reason to keep the units sound at the Hydrowave on.

Also make sure you turn it off when you put your boat back in the storage building late at night in Falcon Heights. It was about 9pm when I was backing the boat in and one of the locals came up and started a conversation, telling me the Zeta's were out tonight. He was curious about the HW so I showed him how it worked. He left and I forgot to turn it off, had it on a 30 second delay. Was bending over to unhook the trailer and that thing went off. First of all, I should have been wearing brown pants as I [censored] my pants. Second of all, I wish I had been wearing a helmet because when I raised up I hit my head so hard on the trolling motor it bled. Be careful, Hydrowave can be dangerous. smile

Hydrowave Electronic another junk science electronic gadget or the real thing?

What comes to mind the helicopter lure, banjo minnow, electronic red eye lure, Chuck Woolery Signature Moto frog, pocket fisherman, Bud Lure, as seen on T.V. etc., in a few years we will all have a few laughs around the dock at who paid how much for it and who indorsed it!.

Patent Pending how many times have we seen that term used loosely in the fishing industry to make something out better than it really is and lets add a few paid sucker Endorsements!

Maybe but maybe not. I know too many really good anglers that paid retail for theirs and were winning plenty and catching them good long before they bought it. They all seem to think there is something to it. I was skeptical myself but I admit after seeing it up close over the weekend I feel like there is something there besides hype. Most people admit that crankbait and jig rattles increase your bites at times so why would this not do the same? Its just on a bigger scale.

Like any lure or new gimic with lots of hype, it is almost impossible to tell if you catch slightly more fish than you would otherwise or just the same. We as fishermen believe it should work and since it doesnt at least appear to cause people to catch less (maybe or maybe not), tons of guys are willing to fork over way tooo much for a glorified game caller worth maybe $50. If it worked half as well as the A-Rig I guess BASS would ban it from the Elites and Classic, right? KVD and Kreit know how to sell product to the gullible masses with money to waste. And they're doing a great job selling theses $20 contraptions for a serious mark up. Save the money and just splash the tip of your rod in the water from time to time. May work just as good. That's my 3 cents smile

And you base your 3 cents on what personal experience?

It's my money and no one is forcing anyone to buy one. I am old enough to remember the same thing being said about that new fangled fishfinder thingy. A complete and total waste of money. I also remember when the grunt call for deer was invented. Several, such as yourself, said pretty much word for word what you said, just lesser amounts of money. I like mine and I had the money to spend on it. BTW, I also got a "Pocket Fisherman" for Christmas in the '70's and I had lots of fun with that gimmick. I believe I saw it still for sale somewhere. That's my opinion and it's worth exactly what you paid for it.

If you haven't actually tested one out, I would say that your opinion isn't even worth the 3 cents you say it is. smile

I have one, just haven't fished since I bought it.

I saw BPS had a weekend where they had it being used or something. Did any one go check it out?

Yeah they put that speaker in the fish tank there in the Grapevine store
and to my astonishment the fish came to the speaker and a few even wanted to eat the darn thing. Truly amazing I just couldn't believe it. Knew it wasn't going to be long before I bought one for myself.

I have been told by two very credible fishing guides at Fork that they are the real deal. Neither one of them were sponsored by HW but they were impressed by the results.

I have one. had it for about 5 months now. seems to produce more bites. especially if the fish are thinking about feeding, seems like I have caught more fish close to the boat. Im a believer. the whole concept makes sense. bass are predators.
Im glad I have one.
