Have an Abu Garcia 6600 BCX that needs a bait clicker spring replaced. Is this a DIY or should I send it to get repaired? If repaired, who knows of a good reel repair shop?

Tried searching for this topic first, but TFF's search feature is down...

Head over to Dallas and drop it off at Southwestern Parts and Service. http://www.southwesternparts.com

And have them do a cleaning and tune up while it's in. You'll thank me when you get it back. Great techs there.

This is the shortcut to your reel schematic. They'll prabably send you the part for free and it'll take 5 minutes to install.

Good Luck

Southwest parts but they are busy so it might take a week or 2 to get it back.

I know a couple reel techs who don't take repairs on the bcx series reels. But I bet sw parts will.

Just picked up 2 Garcia reels from Southwest. Those boys know what they're doing.

I've taken some reels to other places and had some very shady results. Southwest is def the way to go!!

Another vote for Southwest Parts & Service! A great group of guys who know what there doing. They get ALL of my repairs.

Also, they have some of the BEST prices on new rods and reels in town.

Total tab for 5 reels at Southwest was $150. Well worth the money!! The only drawback is that it can take a couple of months to get them done. We dropped ours off in late NOV and got them back a couple weeks ago.
