Yeah, yesterday was a nice day so I thought I'd do a little recon to see how the San Miguel and Daughtery looked in terms of water. As said before, the area directly below the San Miguel bridge and about 50 yards on either side is bone dry. Then, there is water on both sides of the bridge. At the Daughtery, the boat ramp is still in water. You can still launch on the pavement. The water there is a couple hundred yards across. Three guys in a 16 ft. Bass Tracker had just pulled out, and they said that they didn't have any problems launching. Bad news though, they said they didn't catch a single fish. Then, I drove into Tilden, and as I drove over the Frio River bridge, I didn't see any water flowing through there. Which brings up a question. Since the Frio River is the water source for Choke Canyon, how does the water level stay up at Daughtery since theres no flow from the Frio? Is it just runoff from recent rains? Puzzling.
