Today may be one of my happiest days in a while. If anyone saw my post about the pesky leaking gas sender in my boat then you would know that frustration did not describe my emotions fully. WELL TODAY SCREAM HA-LA-LU-YAH. To help someone else that may have or ever have this problem, here is what I finally had to do. I drilled out the existing corroded screw holes to 1/8" all the way through the molded inserts. Went to Lowe's and bought some 1-1/4" no. 10 stainless self drilling screws (self drilling not self tapping). Went to AutoZone and got some cork gasket material. Carefully cut out a matching gasket. Cleaned the area thoroughly (again). Used both the cork and neoprene gasket with the cork on the bottom. Used my 1/4" drive ratchet w/ 5/16 socket to push down and get those #10 screws started and after I got them all about 3/4 of the way in, then I started tightening in a rotating pattern until I could see the neoprene starting to push out. Retightened the lug in the center of the sender until I could see that gasket push out a little. Had my neighbor fishing buddy raise the front of the boat slowly while I use a led light to watch the gasket area good and HOORAY....NO LEAK. So for all those that gave me advise and all those that just felt sorry for the old dude with gas leaks wink Thank You Very Much. I am back in business again....except for that no water in the lakes thing. But I am SOOOOOOO happy that I think EVERYBODY should do the GAS TANK DANCE with me. banana banana banana banana banana
