Hello i have a year and a half Rottweiler and he loves to grab and bite stuff, but outside he is just to strong for me now to play tug-o-war with i have seen on a youtube video some how they attached a spring into a tree with a rope on it allowing the dog to grab it but not able to touch his feet to the ground letting him tug on it. i was wondering if any of you had any ideas of what i could us to construct such a device ? or maybe there is already something made at some pet shop ? your suggestions are appreciated thanks.

You don't need a spring , just get him used to chewing on the rope then hang it in the tree.

It really depends on what he likes to chew on. I've got friends with pits that use an old tire hung up a foot or so off the ground. If he likes those "Kong" toys it'd be easy to string one up.

My former pair of Siberians would play tug-o-war all day long with a rope toy but never paid attention to anything hanging. The female loved to throw firewood around the yard but I wouldn't recommend that as she broke a tooth. wink

You might want to try one of those balls they sell for horses. They're heavy and have a handle on them for gripping.
