If you're really a greenie, go put in at Rochelles, walk up the small section of current thru the bridge and work up stream: there'll lots of room, safe parking, lots of folks and a good long stretch of flat water. Unless you have beach experience be careful driving up near the bridge in that gravel, it gets soft and deep. They'll charge a fee, but they maintain a proper enough boat ramp, and have a room with a door so's the decent among you can pee civilized.

The rustic bridge put in a mile below the dam has more moving water, and the bank is slightly eroded and difficult and the trout guys, all gathered in there thick, will stare at you. But/and you could probably collect a lot of aluminum, to recycle, beer can colored aluminum.

Edit Reason: chicks dig gravel info

The gauge at Hwy 16 is reporting 22cfs (very low), but Rochelle's is reporting 53cfs (below average) at this moment.

20 CFS at the Hwy 16 bridge is easily yakible, assuming you think kayak fishing is easy. Lot's of fishy spots up and down river from the bridge, and I love launching from there (even at 20 CFS).

I have never put in at Rochelle's but have heard there's good fishing down there too. So it looks like you have options.

With Rochelles closed for the season is there still parking available around the launch site near the Hwy 4 bridge?
