I drive 45 minutes to the nearest retailer who carries it, which makes sense since I live in Tyler...which most people would probably consider to be right in the center of East Texas bass country.

How many Yamaha outboards are there around here? And yet Academy, Gander Mountain, and other so-called sporting goods/outdoor outlets don't carry it?

I run Sea Foam instead of the ridiculously over priced ring free. Its as good if not better IMHO, and can be found in any auto parts store.

3 years in my current ZX250 with a 250 hp ox66 and 4 years previously in my ZX185 with a 150 hp motor. My buddy Chris has also been running it in his ZX225 with a 225 HPDI on it for at least 5 years.
We had to pull the heads on the ZX185 due to an extreme amount of silt I sucked into the water jacket. While the heads were off my mechanic did a full inspection and was amazed at how clean everything was. He told me whatever I was using to keep using it, it was as clean as he'd seen on a boat with the number of hours mine had. That was all I needed to hear.

Just to second the good results on Sea Foam-its a great product. I use it in everything from the lawn mower to my truck and boat. And my outboard is a 2 stroke so I think its even more important to use it when you're mixing oil with the gas.

Might have to try the seafoam out. I have been using the Stabil blue gas treatment.

You may want to still use the additive ++ the Stabil blue treatmeant. I have used both =ring free or seafome--with the Stabil blue.. may be over kill..what do you think.

I was not using anything for the first five years on my 200 Yama. But it began to sputter and smoked more than usual. Started using ring free and Yamalube and it has been great since. But both are expensive.Think I will try the seafoam for a while.
