I'm about to buy my first kayak. Anyone have an opinion on the Future Beach Freedom 160 DLX? I plan to fish everywhere from the surf to east texas lakes. From the few reviews I've read it isn't the fastest but is stable and has a high weight capacity. Any info is helpful. Thanks.

Just bought this kayak a few weeks back. Have only had it out a couple of times and it's my first yak so I can't say too much. It isn't a speed demon but to me that's not really a requirement for a fishing kayak. It is stable though. I'm 6'4" and 190 pounds and I can do just about anything I need to, including stand in it without feeling to perilous.

To me though the best thing about this yak is the price. Got mine at Dicks when it was on sale for 350 plus I got it marked down to a final price of about 260. I really feel I got a steal but I would have been more than happy to pay the 350 from what ive experienced so far.

A final interesting note. Guy at dicks said they weren't being produced anymore and I got the last one they were ever gonna have of this model. I think this had a lot to do with why they are selling for pretty cheap. But when they're gone they're gone so you may not wanna wait too long.

Wow. Only 350? Sports Authority still has it for 599. Do you have the 13ft one?

Yah, it's 160 inches which works out to about 13.3 feet
