Has anyone seen any? ? Has anyone noticed that the dark slimy algae that was on all the wood has gotten scarce? Just wondering

i was there a couple of weeks ago and saw several fish that looked like talapia, they were against some cattails, it was overcast and a little murky so it was hard to tell exactly what they were, but i know the fishing has been off there so far this year

never seen any out there myself and the stocking repots dont show any ever being stocked...wouldnt be possible unless someone illegally platned them there ... fishing is off for sure so it might not be a bad thing...how often does TPWD update thier stocking history pages?

I caught one on a square bill two weeks before Thanksgiving. I've been on Fairfiled plenty and netted plenty Blue Tilapia out there, but this thing was either a different species, or a different fish all together. It had bright pink on the edges of all fins and a lighter color....I'm about to call someone and figure out how to post the pics...I have not figured out how yet.....I was always under the assumption that tilapia were vegetarian, but this one was sure caught right in the mouth....pic to come.

Tilapia are superb table fare! If you catch one, keep it, filet it and broil in the oven with whatever spices you prefer. Goes great with some butter, a little salt & pepper! We had tilapia for supper tonight and it was delish! food

I use photobucket, once your pics are there, copy the IMG code and then paste in your reply on TFF.

After looking on the web, that one looks like a Nile Tilapia, but it says there were over 100 species.
