If not then why in the world would someone put the bottom of your throw net that has been on the bottom of your bait bucket in your mouth? Just curious you can use the same style without directly subjecting yourself to possible bacterial infection and such that are growing on your net and on the bottom of your bucket. Just think many times you are throwing your net in back waters, stagnet areas that could and do at times contain ameobas that will kill if you contract one. This is rare but why take the chance. Also let me say this is coming from the guy who will cut up a gizzard shad and grab his sandwhich and eat it without washing his hands! Sometimes we do things that we should not and we should consider the posible outcomes. Just a random thought for the day.

I dont put net in my mouth either, I usually eat down to sandwhich corner im holding then toss it...just dont make the mistake of eating cheetos and sucking your fingers

Great point and I NEVER put my net in my mouth. I do have a BAD story about some customers that brought me a sack lunch one day with a bag of Nacho Cheese Doritos. Let me just say that tasty orange cheese doesn't taste so good if it's covering up shad guts, catfish slime and Dead Red on your fingers!

Yea, I put my net in my mouth. Never bothered me much. Putting the net on my shoulder gets me soaked. I can keep some water off me by using my teeth.
If I'm gunna swim in the lake, I'm gunna end up with some water in my mouth at some point. I see it as basically the same thing.

I don't put it in my mouth. To worried about doing damage to my teeth and there are other methods anyway. Guilty of eating after handling bait and eating. That is what the front of pants is for anyway isn't it?

I wish I had learned another technique on casting my net. Someone showed me that method and its hard to break it!

Nope, no net in the mouth here....I must throw it different as it never comes close to my head......uhhh, and my bucket...well it has been known to serve other purposes so lickin it aint happnin neither.

Putting the net in your mouth is bad for your teeth and doesn't taste all that good. BUT, as for the infection you're FAR more likely to get that from an open cut on your hands than from putting the net in your mouth. Your mouth is already full of bacteria and your body has mechanisms to prevent them from making you sick. Bacteria makes you sick when it gets in some here that doesn't have a strong defense system.

i hand wash DAM's net with Fiji water and the tears of unicorns after every throw. His hands never touch his mouth as I feed him with a pearl fork. He also never gets hot as i keep continual air flow over him with a gold woven ostrich feather fan.
