Haven't been out in a few months. Darn work schedule has been nuts. Planning on heading out in the morning for a day of fishing. Can anyone give me a few tips to help make it a productive day.

Tight lines!

I would bring a six pack if someone else is doing the driving :P

I love plastic worms. They are simple and work well for most any bass.

I have had success on the north side fishing drops and points, action has been fairly slow recently

Find a structure breakline in about 5-8 foot of water that is close to deeper water and throw a suspending jerk bait tell it hurts.

Thanks guys, I just got back from buying some new Jerk baits, That was pretty much my plan. I am hoping to get on a few at least.

Fishinfellow, did you throw any jerk baits? What kind of water did you target?

Thank again guys.

Tight lines!

thought about a jerk bait but didn't go with my gut. I fished shallow cranks, spinnerbaits, and lipless cranks around rocks, fished jigs around timber and rocks and later, moved to deep diving cranks through schools of baitfish offshore, and then small spoons and road runners around marinas...not a lick

If you would've stayed with your gut and counted to a thousand 10 between jerks, you would more than likely be singing a different tune. There is a lot of people that just can't seem to stay with the JB. It is definitely a confidence bait, and if you've never done any good with it, you haven't fished it enough. Find a good concentration of bait in an area and go to work. Steve Norvielo(sp) FOX4 says, My 2 cents, use it wisely!!

A big spinnerbait works well also in that cold water on G-Vine. Okie you should remember.

yeah I had a lot of confidence in my spinnerbait, slow rolled it, fished it erratically, just nothin. I've done really well on jerkbaits in the past (not on the vine, but other places) but haven't fished them much recently, like within the past two or three years.

Well guys it ended up being a pretty good day on the water, other than the blowing 50mph wind. Although I did get test out the New Talon, Works great I must say. Ended the day with 6 fish in the boat with the biggest being 3.8lbs. All fish came off a jerk bait, Okie I agree with your 10 sec wait between jerks. They wanted it stopped, once I figured them out I was waiting at least 10 sec between jerks The funny thing was once the wind slowed at the end of the day the bite stopped completely.
