I've got an '07 ram 2500 4X4. I recently replaced the front end due to the fore mentioned wobble. What would be the best aftermarket shocks to use.

Bilsteins are the best for long life. I put them on my 2000 @ 60k miles and the difference in ride was noticeable. I still have the same ones and they have a lifetime warranty......they did then anyway.

The mere mention of "death wobble" sends shivers up any Jeep owner's spine...especially those of us who've experienced it at 60 MPH on a Houston freeway curve in heavy traffic. flame
(it's usually a bad track bar on Jeeps).

Might want to look into Rancho shocks too. But Bilstein's are also good.

Fishtick I had a 2004 that had this very same issue. When I put larger tires on it was when the wobble occurred. I put 315 75R 17's on mine and it was the width on the actual factory wheel that was like 8" if I remember correctly that was the biggest issue. I went with a 2" leveling kit in the front, Rancho 5000 shocks all the way around and went to a wider wheel. Never had a problem again. The wobble would occur from 70+mph and shake you out of the lane of travel, very dangerous.

Im not sure what size tires you have on yours but if they are still the factory spec 265's you may need a new steering stabilizer. Rancho or any shock manufacturer will fix this. Go to Mike Off Road and they can help you out. Hope this helps.

if all other steering-related parts are good, then a
nice rancho steering stabilizer will stop the death-wobble that's usually caused by:
1.) wheels with lots of outside offset & tal tires
2.) a 6" or higher susp. lift than changes steering geometry,
er go, the death wobble grin
other than that, run the bilsteins if you've got that kind of $$
if not the monroe Reflex is a great shock for 30-40k miles

death wobble is caused by defective front end parts, track bar, ball joints, steering stabilizer, tire rod ends, etc. a leveling kit or lift exaggerates the problem. better shocks and a steering stabilizer will help but not eliminate it. until the worn parts are replaced it will return. largest cause to start the wobble is out of balance tires/wheels. drying of the lubricants used to mount the tires can be slow if they use to much or if its cold and you can spin your tire on the wheel while it is still wet with a high torque engine. road force balancing will help...if you have a lift you need to fix the geometry change with an adjustable track bar or track bar bracket...i recomend the adjustable track bar. I have had the death wobble in two different dodge trucks 2003 quad cab 5.9 cummins and a 2009 mega cab 6.7 cummins. both caused by above... the last was worn track bar bushing, bad tie rod end and steering stabilizer braket with a crack... no front end damage... just crappy parts from the bad days of Dodge...

+1 on Bilsteins 5100. I plan to get those next after my skyjacker nitro shocks wear out.

Did you recently replace tires? Among the other things that will cause it, a light duty tire on a truck needing an E range tire can cause some serious shimmy. They are cheaper to buy but can cause issues. A guy wrote an article on it a while ago I read and his reasoning made a lot of sense, I have no proof to back it up though as I usually have E range tires on my trucks and I've never had a lifted SFA truck either.
