Well, yesterday my fishin' buddy broke in half and am in the market for a new fish finder. Looking to get one tween 100 and 200 $. Ideas? But this time probably a combo with transducer etc...

Thanks guys. The fishin' buddy had side sonar imaging. Does the lowrance or the humminbird have this? Or just below the kayak imaging?

You can get it with the bird and lowrance but not for under $200

Well, honestly, when I would use that side imaging I may see what is presented as a fish but it usually didn't produce. But I have never had good down imaging. I took out my BPS catalogue and read about the Lowrance, Bird and the Garmin. I'm leaning toward the lowrance, but does it come with a mount for the kayak?

Well, I ended up getting a Humminbird 561. Will watch some YouTube vids to learn about installation

Saw electrical duct sealant used for securing a transducer on utube. Thoughts on this? Looks pretty cool and could save time and money.
