OK, I went to Scotts Landing today, looked at getting a covered slip and like what I saw. Cost is $2700/year (rounding up, extra is to pay for extra passes). There is water/electric. Need 8 people to go in. If interested post here. I have pm'd several that expressed interest earlier on another so let's hear from you. I have all materials needed to get a couple crappie condos down right away. http://www.scottslandingmarina.com/MooringsStorage/tabid/412/Default.aspx

Buzzard-- I may be interested & I also have some condo material! Couple of questions; 1. Did you pick a slip already? If so, how deep? 2. Occasionally, I wouldn't mind leaving my boat in the slip a night or two. (ESP during the summer when I launch 2x per day pretty often. Are you and the other guys open to that?

1. have not picked a slip, several to choose from and on shady side. 2. I wouldn't mind a bit, I have a jon boat I would like to leave there semi-permanent. The slip is 22' long so can accomodate one or both depending on how big your boat is. Slips with boats in them attract more fish.
In addition to the condo I thought of putting in an automated dog food dispenser to attract bait fish and cats. A light on a timer or just switch on while there could also help.

keep in mind can be used for catfishing as well, also, there is a nice 20'X20' picnic area halfway down the walkway that you can fish off as well, looked like it would produce cats. I am planning on putting a storage locker down there to keep a few poles, jigs and supplies, just enough that if it's stolen no biggie.

Becareful at that Marina. My dad's boat was stolen at Silverlake 3 years ago and the police caught them at Scott's. They had 3 boats in their possession and taking motors out of boats.

gaining momentum, I need everyone that is interested to pm me their name and phone number, I have a lot of pms back and forth but looks like we may have around 6 but need to firm up.
Got a pm from someone asking if he could bring his kids, of course you can, there is a lot of room, picnic area halfway down the walkway, lots of parks and trails in the area, good family locale plus I know when it's cold as heck most of the kids won't want to come anyway, when it's warm you're gonna catch cats anyway. Maybe once we get it all together we can we can kick it off with a bbq for everyone.

Thanks Poppie, thanks for the invite but once we get ours up and running we probably won't be slumming...ha! Kidding aside that would be great.

I fished a slip there for about three years. We would catch crappie and bass from sunrise til about ten am on any day in the spring summer and fall. Be advised that there are a lot of snakes and some of them are cottonmouths.

OK folks, the Scotts Landing is currently full, we are meeting on Sunday to sign up. I have had a huge response on this though and have enough alternate guys that will be enough to start another slip (6 alternates so far). I will put you all in touch with one another this Sunday after we get ours signed so you don't have to go through the whole searching thing again.
If you have not sent me a pm and do want to get in the alternate slip let me know by PM so I can include you in that group.
