Planned to film a bit with my buddies from Team Katchemaw, looking for some trout action...
The day before only produced cold winds and 1 trout a measly 18" but birds were working just moving everywhere i couldnt paddle to them..only time i caught was when they would go over my fishbites i would catch a trout...
As for today!
launched around 930 it was chilly but quickly warming up, hit up a trout spot i found yesterday with no results, perhaps in the summer it would be better?
paddled across shoreline lots of bait but nothing
paddled about a mile and half to my spot i have dubbed "Trout Time!"
We started drifting with nothing to show for it...
i moved into deeper water and started throwing plastic...
a slow retrieve and BAM! Fish on!
after a few headshakes and a .um..net mishap :13: i finally have the first trout in the yak...
a 23" FAT trout, it still had a mullet tail sticking out of its gut....

That paul brown has been the ticket recently for me, not a lot of dinks and more quality trout...im not one for limits anyways since i dont really keep anymore...the only thing is they are hard to come by now =/
after that it was a few hits but nothing solid the bites came in the afternoon after things warmed up a bit....
Wish i knew how to catch trout better but its a learning process, almost time for those blackdrum so i got something to look forward to

now i pack the truck for a bit of hunting

Till next time!
