What features do yall look for in a good crankbait rod? MH? H? 6'6"? 7'? longer? Fast Tip? Help me out! Im looking to purchase one within the next week. Ive been looking at the Winch series of Abu Garcia Veritas 7'.

Also reel suggestions would be nice. or prefered gear ratios!

Looking for them to be anywhere in the range under $200 each

Depending on the cranks my friend....7'm for shallow cranks....7.6+ medium or medium heavy for medium to deep divers....we can hook you up...our rods are lightweight and balanced and won't have you feeling drained after cranking all day...

I'm in the market for a good cranking rod too. Looks like I will probably get the Quantum Tour KVD Crankin Rod unless I hear about something better. Still wonder if I should get the Med or MedHvy though.

Ducket makes a micro guide cranking rod too that I have considered. All of his are Med rods. Mostly good reviews for this one.

Both come in at the same price.

All I look for in a cranking rod is backbone with a soft tip 7'+ rod. Med action usually but some brands it could vary between m-mh some guys even use a light action rod. Find something you like but generally soft tip for treble hooks.

what about gear ratios on the reels? what do yall prefer? a few people have told me to get a burner reel.

Ducketts' range from $150 to $170. Depends on size. As for reels it depends on your speed control. If you tend to reel fast then I would get a 5:1. If you can control your speed then get a 6:1. Personally I wouldn't go with a higher number than 6;1 for cranking.

Quantum Tour KVD Crankin Rod is about $160 just for comparison.
