Just checked the weather in Zapata. Sunny, 52 degrees, wind -0-, baro 30.44. Forecast to warm into the mid 60's with clouds and light/variable winds.

I love everything about that but the high baro, but that may make someone's deep fish really group up on bottom!

I know the bite's been kinda funky of late, but I just have a feeling it's gonna take 47+ to win, today. We'll see.

I wanna see some over 50lbs. I am now looking forward to these results.

There will be a few people that stumble on the motherload on a prime off-shore rockpile. But I'm telling you the fishing has been the toughest on Falcon I have witnessed to date. There are going to be a lot of low weights unless the switch was flipped overnight.

Oh, I know. But I also know a few guys that may just be on that motherload!

Got a group of friends there now and said they didn't do anything hardly yesterday. Hopefully today fish turned on

some of those Champs boys will be on em, probably be a couple of sacks at or over 50 lbs..

There will be some good weights, for sure, but you guys are gonna be surprised at how few, at least by falcon standards. And alot more will blank, or close to it, than you'd expect too.

Yep that's one of those lakes you step on the right school and catch em for 20-30 mins and your golden. Anyone can step on them down there.

That's what I'm hearing too stc. Gonna be a ton of light sacks and blanks. But there should, I said should, be three or four giant sacks and a bunch of other good ones, too. "Giant" just depends on if someone had the right school and caught 'em. They'll certainly be able to fish 'em. I talked to Jersey earlier and he was sitting in his room looking out xcross The Veleno and mainlake, and he said it was glass!

You did VERY well for time u were here, but with that said you did not see a 100 fish day where basically you quit fishing because u can't move your arms...... Come back in a few months, trust me.

I geussed low at 35.32 and its the one time i hope the fishing stays tough and slow. Good luck to all teams.

it will take over 40lbs for sure. we had 40 lbs twice this week pretty easy. not a ton of bites but most were 7-9lbs each stop. the falling water has them definitely in small groups on isolated spots. the rest have pulled out to deeper rock and ledges.

59.04 lbs is currently leading. UNBELIEVABLE.

I have had 2 friends call me from down there and told me the same number. I know it sounds insane, if I am wrong, I apologize, but have heard it from 2 people that are in the tourney. Big fish as of 30 minutes ago was a 12.8x. This has to be a record, if accurate...........

Yes you can rake care of those type fish in a modern livewell. Lots of boaters and coanglers with 30lb bags each and all alive back when FLW fished falcon first time.

59.04 was posted on the screen down there. A buddy just sent me a text with a picture of it. It was a mistype on the screen. That is why people were saying it, it was literally on the screen. Again, I apologize for the bad information.I should have known better.

Still don't have a final weight but our good friends at Falcon Lake Tackle tell me Mr. Oldham is presently leading with 46 lbs. I'm sure they'll post the top few on their website before too long.

we took the divider out of the livewell this week and it was still full with 5 8lbers. i cant imagine 35-40lbs on each side!

Fortunately this was a five fish limit.

A buddy of mine that is down there said Terry won with 45. He said the 59 was a typo.

If so, that man is a hammer on Falcon and Amistad. I have to be honest, I was pulling for any of the Haralson family. Darned fine people who put in their time and are right there in the thick of it most of the time. But I know they are close friends with Terry so I'm sure they're happy for him, too.

I spun a hub at takeoff and was only able to fish maybe 2% of the water. Pretty much none of my pre fishing water outside the biggest public hole on falcon.
Caught towards 20 fish. 3 were put in the livewell. 13.08 but that is No bueno.
I released according to BC plans for a 0 weight payout.
A chance at a 500 dollar blind drawing to reduce the stress on fish and time of weigh inn.
Im sure there were plenty that did the same.
Weighing 5 fish for 10lbs on this lake...LOL
