Capt G posted this pic on another site and I had to share it. This bass is from lake Biwa and is only 21 1/2 inches long. It weighes an incredible 11 pounds, 5.30 ounces on a certified scale. That is the thickest bass I have ever seen. Imagine that fish at 28-30 inches The spawn is still a few months away there to so it could feasably get fatter.

If you compare it to all of its sunfish cousins, that is exactly how a bass is supposed to look. That looks a lot like a big cousin of the giant sunfish those guys in the sunfish forum are catching. Beautiful fish!

...and from what I have read, by law it had to be killed after being caught. It is illegal to catch and release a bass at Lake Biwa.

Very few bass and lots of bait will do that. We don't have that situation in the US.

Ill stay where I don't have to kill a fish like that. Id rather not catch it than catch and be forced to kill a fish like that. Not only that their weiner tumor worms scare me.

I think we should harvest more bass instead of putting every fish back in the water that we catch.

Never seen anything like that. Unreal. Interesting to hear a response from Dave Campbell or Forshage on this.

Do bait fish just swim into that thing's mouth? I mean seriously, it looks obese if such a thing is possible.
