It looks like one of those algae suckers you see in an aquarium, but enormous.

It's a plecostamus(sp). They really want you to kill any that are caught. We had a guy catch one on a trip down there and the Game Warden told us all about it.

Yup, that's it! That's a Pleco (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plecostomus). People often let them loose in local bodies of water and they'll get really, really big.

Just talked to a friend of mine at TPWD and he said they shocked several this fall on Falcon. He said to kill every one you catch.

We used to have a couple of those guys in our fish tank a few years ago...Guess people release em into the wild when they get too big or something...

They eat algae when there young but become aggressive when they are get bigger.

That would scare the chit out of me.

You will see tons of those things in big piles by the fish camps on the mexican side. The netters don't keep them, just pile them up and then the gulls have a field day on them.

Those things are every where in texas now thanks to irresponsible people. I always gut them and throw em back in for the turtles.

I have actually seen a few of them in Lady Bird Lake here in Austin.

They are aquarium fish. There's fish camps on the Mexican side littered with hundreds of them. The net fisherman chunk em up on the bank. The smell is horrible.

I don't think I could have touched it to get it off the hook. Bye bye swimbait. Holy carp that thing is hideous.

Nasty pleco. Dont even like em in my tanks anymore becasue they fight with my cichlids.

Please kill every one you come across. As said, we have irresponsible aquarium owners to thank for this plague. I understand they kill a lot of BIG catfish on Falcon. They stick those barbed fins out and nothing can swallow them. Get lodged in the catfishes throat and it kills the cat. They have no other natural predators! Kill em' all!

They taste kind a like Chicken too!!!
